Sharing My World 04-08-2025
Here is my post for Share My World, hosted by Di.
Would you like to relive parts of your childhood?
Some parts were good. I remember a lot of bike riding around the place, and to visit friends. I couple of school trips to outside places stand out in my mind.
But, on the whole, I wouldn’t go through childhood again for anything.
Did you believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy?
Very probably, though I don’t remember “actively” believing. It was a long time ago though.
I was just happy for the presents, the chocolate eggs and the money under the pillow, basically. I’m a believer!
Was there a childhood habit you never grew out of?
I really don’t know.
Were you part of a large family or an only child?
There was me and my brother (plus parents), the “standard” family size.

I remember they used to say the average family had two and a half kids… which is weird since I’ve never seen half a kid before (outside of a magic trick gone wrong)….

It’s not quite two and a half here – there’s a famous comedy from years ago called “2 Point 4 Children”…

I spent a lot of my childhood daydreaming and I never stopped.

Oh yeah, field trips were fun. But like you, I’m happy to leave it all behind.
Now if I could be 30 again…. 🙂

Thanks for joining in and sharing your world again this week. I never really mastered riding my bike and always wanted a scooter. My friend in the next road had one and I knocked myself out on it going round their bungalow as I went smack into an open window!

Luckily it was one of those kiddy ones (I was about 9) so not with an engine!

hey there draliman! Hope you are well and enjoyed your post – also, very cool that you recall a lot of bike riding from childhood – that sounds like a gift

We rode all over town to visit friends. The road we used to cycle up quite happily is now an almost-constant traffic jam these days 😦
