Sharing My World 06-10-2025
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
The clocks go back at the end of October here in the UK. Does your country do the same?
Yes, because I’m that country too 🙂
Do you enjoy Halloween?
I have to remember to buy some sweets because I usually get a couple of groups of greedy kiddies round. But apart from that I don’t do anything. So it’s not too bad, though I hate that I go on high alert every time I hear people walking past outside chattering excitedly…
Dare I ask if you are preparing for Christmas? If you do not celebrate it in your country, do you have any December traditions?
The only thing I’m preparing to do is order the food, as you have to get in early and since it’s all locally sourced (it’s not a supermarket) it’s all top quality and I don’t want to miss out.
Are you likely to have snow anytime soon?
I’m not likely to have snow at all. Snow in Cornwall is sparse and usually confined to a few square miles so it’s the luck of the draw. When driving into work the other morning, though, I did see an amber temperature warning briefly appear on the car’s dashboard. So it briefly dropped below 5 degrees (it goes red below 0C).

Am I allowed to extend Bah Humbug to Halloween? Another import from the USA, designed to make money for those who already have more than enough!

You definitely can. It’s getting out of control.

It is, I ordered it all a couple of days ago. Everything comes from local Cornish farms and I’ve frequently been surprised that certain foods, especially vegetables, actually have a really good taste rather than the flat supermarket stuff. The Brussels sprouts in particular are amazing!

Sadly I have to push buttons to activate the heated seats and steering wheel. I’m sure I can manage, though!

We have a similar warning in our Duster.
We looked at property in Cornwall in 2001 but my redundancy was delayed by 6 months and we lost our buyer, so ended up staying in our house for another 6 years!
Thanks for joining in again this week. We have a bowl of sweeties, but as to whether any kids will knock on our door, it’s unlikely

I usually get my Godson and his Mum around, plus any other groups who happen to see me giving him sweets!

Apart from all the gangs of little children, you can hardly tell it’s Halloween here.
