Sharing My World 15-12-2025
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Did anyone read you a bedtime story when you were a child?
Not that I remember but I suppose my parents must have at some time. They were very good teaching me to read, though, I could read before I started school, so I guess I read my own books from quite a young age.
Did you read bedtime stories to anyone?
No. I don’t have kids though.
Do you prefer to read a book, an ebook/kindle, or audio book?
I usually read my Kindle, it’s more convenient than a paper book, though I do own a load of paper books. Which is why I switched to the Kindle, I don’t have any bookshelf space left. I’ve never tried an audio book.
What is your favourite fairy tale?
I’ve never been big on fairy tales, they’re all too “nice”. Maybe I should try the “originals”, I’ve heard most of those can be pretty “Grimm”. Ha ha.

No, I’m not big on fairytales either! Audiobooks are great! I love being able to just sit and have someone read to me!

Maybe I’ll give one a go sometime.

I still like real books, but have lots on my Kindle, too. It is easy to use, plus I ran out of shelf room, too.
P.S. have you heard from ES lately? His blog says it is private.

I loved bedtime stories! I could not wait to learn how to read. Faerie tales were always my favourite! 🙂

Thanks for taking part again this week. I don’t have kids either, but my nephews collared me to reading them a story, when they were younger. Long time ago now, and I haven’t see one of them for over 36 years.

That’s a shame you haven’t seen them for so long.

My family is not close, and the generations have gone their own way.

I have over 100 books on my Kindle that have not been read and stacks of them all through the house.
I might have a problem. lol

A friend of mine also collects books “ready for reading”. I tend to buy and immediately read 🙂

Reading at bed time was a night time ritual for my daughters. Then, when they did the same for their kids, my joy had no stopper. Now their kids have grown…will the joy carry on? 📚

I think bedtime stories will continue throughout the generations into the future, no matter what else happens in the world.
