Sharing My World Week 29

It’s Week 29 of Share Your World, hosted by Cee at her photography blog.

Have you ever been in a submarine?  If you haven’t, would you want to?
I’ve never been in a submarine, but it sounds cool. I’d like to look around a military submarine in the dock as they look quite interesting, but it would be boring taking a trip in one as they have no windows. One of those tourist subs with a glass floor would be great for looking at coral reefs and such.

Are you a listener or talker?
I’m a listener as I never have anything to say, though I’m only good at listening when people are talking about serious stuff. During a long splurge of “small talk” I generally just nod and say things like “mmm” and “right” at what seem to be the appropriate times (hoping all the while that they didn’t say something which would require a “how awful” or “on no”).

“Take the cotton wool out of your ears and put it in your mouth.”

Do you prefer crunchy peanut butter or smooth peanut butter?   Anything with your peanut butter?
Since I don’t like peanuts I’m guessing I wouldn’t like peanut butter, crunchy or otherwise. Peanut butter’s not such a big “thing” in the UK (I’m guessing it’s quite popular in the US as they always seem to be eating it on the TV), I don’t know anyone who eats it. You can definitely buy it in the supermarket, though.

Have you ever been drunk?
I’m guessing I wasn’t entirely sober when I starred as singer “Alison” in a university Physics Christmas party many many years ago. (Faces blanked out to protect the guilty!)

"Alison"

Who is this sexy man? Woman? Man!

I am very, very disturbed right now…about peanut butter not being very popular in the UK.

Sigh. I wonder if it is in Canada?

    PS–nice legs! 🙂

I’m guessing it might be popular with the kids, as they have been exposed to more American TV than I was as a kid – I’d never heard of the stuff until a few years ago.
      Thanks 🙂

Also, it took me a minute to realize where “Alison” came from…I was trying to think of female singers with that name LOL. (hey, it’s early here! 😀 )

Ali, Those were some odd questions. You’re so honest. A fellow my dad worked with had a son who was stationed in a submarine crew during WWII. He became deaf because of the torpedos they shot off. I’m like you. I’d like to see the inside of one but wouldn’t want to be in one for any length of time, especially in a war.

We do eat a lot of peanut butter in the U.S. I finally found some good natural peanut butter here in India. So much of it that you buy in the stores has too much other stuff added.

I can see why they chose you to play the part of a woman. You have better legs than many women do. 🙂 —Susan

Wow, I never thought about how noisy it might be in one of those things. It would be especially scary during a battle, surrounded by water and unable to see what’s happening.
Peanut butter does sound like it would have a lot of additives, I’m glad you found a more natural one.
      Thanks 🙂

Yea a submarine with a glass floor would be nice. We do eat a lot of peanutbutter. Great late night snack in a sandwich with jelly. Great legs :-).

My substitute for peanut butter is Marmite. Not everyone’s cup of tea, I know!
      Thanks 🙂

The glass bottomed tourist subs are very cool, so if you’re ever near a touristy coral reef, definitely take a ride. Maybe if they put windows on battle subs, everyone would feel better and enjoy peanut butter?

I guess windows on battle subs would distract the crew 🙂

    Really Great Legs!
Peanut Butter is somewhat additive free here; peanuts, salt, hydrogenated oil to keep it blended.
Peanut butter tastes different than peanuts even the organic, can’t explain why. I was an adult before using it. I like extra crunchy PB with plum or raspberry jam.
Tourist submarines also stink, at least the one I was on, Yuckity yuck.

      Thanks!
Maybe I’ll have to give peanut butter a go, just to check that I don’t like it. Maybe I’m giving it a bum deal.
I didn’t think of the smell! I guess all those people crammed in there. Yeeks!

Marmite is nasty, if you can eat that you can eat anything. Try PB small amount at a time.

If I don’t like the peanut butter on its own I could try peanut butter and Marmite 🙂

Peanut butter is popular in Canada – just letting people know. I’m not big on it, but it is nice on toast once in awhile – it gets all melty and blends with the butter, then add some honey or a favorite jam (raspberry or blackberry)… mmmmm

I don’t think I’d like to go on a submarine. I mean maybe take a peek through one in the dry dock. But I would get claustrophobic and go stir crazy in one of those things I’m sure.

And drunk you, eerrrr I mean Alison looks fun… I bet she/he has some stories to tell! 😉 and I will not divulge if I have been drunk before as a lady does not discuss such things… LOL!!!

Alison does have stories to tell, but of course, as you say, a lady would not reveal them 😉 I decided to go for a “comedy” answer as after a lot of thought I decided I didn’t have the energy to go into the whole “well I’m in AA so the question is was I ever sober” thing.

I think a tourist sub with windows wouldn’t be too bad because you could see out, although I hear they do get very cramped with all the people.
