Sharing My World 2015 Week 11

It’s time for Share Your World again, hosted by Cee.

List 2 things you have to be happy about?
Oh goodness, I’m not so good with this sort of question. A good job in a great company, and living in a country where I don’t have to worry about very much at all compared to some.

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard or mayonnaise?
Yes. Also Tabasco, Worcester sauce, horseradish sauce, mint sauce etc etc. The way I “cook”, it’s usually best not to be able to taste the food.

This is all I have in at the moment. I hope it will do.

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colours would you use?
Golly gosh! I don’t know. I had a happy childhood so something bright, I suppose. Yellow, maybe.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?
A shower. Leaving alone the fact that after a bath I feel all sweaty and in need of a shower, baths are too expensive. I had an ex once whom I allowed to stay on in the place I was renting while she finished her finals at university (big mistake but that’s another story). She switched from showers to baths and tripled my water bill. Tripled!

Here’s a bonus for this week. I entered and won Evil Squirrel’s Second Annual Contest of Whatever, and here is what I got for my prize – a cool t-shirt direct from ES’s CafePress shop. This is also my very first selfie :-). And here’s a shameless link drop to my winning entry.

I tried one using the mirror and then I had a go by aiming the camera at myself and using the mirror to see what I was pointing the phone at.

Congratulations! A worthy win for the squirrels. I like your choice of condiments too – Branston Pickles, HP sauce, Lea & Perrins – yum. I have a Cornish best friend, and she has indoctrinated me over the last 40 years πŸ˜€

By the way you cook, it’s best not to taste the food? β€œGolly gosh!”

That’s the first shirt selfie I’ve ever seen, Ali. Good-looking tee. Congratulations on your win! I used to make a meatloaf using a Heintz 57 Sauce recipe.. It was great. You put the sauce both in it and on it. πŸ™‚

    • March 22, 2015 at 11:26 am

If it’s got Heinz sauce in it I could probably give it a go πŸ™‚

      • March 25, 2015 at 12:40 pm

The Heintz Company used to give out the recipe. I don’t know if they do that any more. You make it just like regular meatloaf, but add a couple tablespoons of Heintz 57 Sauce in it and then coat the outside with it before cooking. It’s great.

Nice! You could totally be one of the headless models Cafepress uses to show off the tees. Thanks for showing it off, and I’ll bet it’ll start up a conversation or two with strangers!

    • March 22, 2015 at 4:32 pm

I can also point to it if I don’t want to talk to someone! It’ll be warm enough to wear it soon without a jumper.

Excellent tee shirt ,and you can wear it with pride. A well-deserved win – congratulations. Great collection of condiments, too. I also agree with you about having a bath. There are far better things to be getting on with than soaking for hours, only to feel all sweaty when you get out! πŸ™‚

    • March 22, 2015 at 4:33 pm

Thanks, it is a great t-shirt!
After a couple of minutes in a bath I start to feel like I should be doing something.

Love the shirt…I got a RD coffee mug! πŸ˜€

    • March 22, 2015 at 4:35 pm

Nice πŸ™‚ Everybody loves RD. I had a hard time choosing.

Thanks so much for sharing this week. I really enjoyed reading your answers. πŸ™‚

That shirt is TOTALLY cool and I think I am going to have to acquire one. An irresistible urge is assaulting me …

    • March 22, 2015 at 4:38 pm

It is very cool. I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to wear it without a jumper.

LOL! You made me smile this morning. πŸ˜€

  10. March 22, 2015 at 11:17 pm

Oh wow! A genuine ES Shirt. I’m in awe.

    • March 23, 2015 at 12:06 pm

It’s great! I can’t wait to wear it when it’s warm enough to go jumperless.

A good woman is worth a triple water bill, harrumph.
Love the tee shirt, looks great on the headless model.
I know Ill be out of town, someday somewhere and I’ll come face to face with a ES shirt.

    • March 23, 2015 at 12:08 pm

Yep. Except we’d split up, she spent all her money on clothes rather than help with the bills she was creating and brought men back, while I paid all the rent and bills and slept downstairs on the floor. Ah, happy days.
I decided to deliberately cut my face out of the picture πŸ™‚ Good luck with the ES t-shirt spotting while out and about!

A yellow childhood sounds like the way that time should be πŸ™‚

    Nice shirt and phone!

    • March 23, 2015 at 9:09 pm

      Yep πŸ™‚
Thanks! I love my t-shirt. My phone, however, is getting old and slow.

I was kidding a little since you hid your face with the phone, but I am a Samsung owner and like it much better than my Motorola. πŸ™‚

        • March 24, 2015 at 8:13 am

I haven’t had a Motorola for a good long while (pre-smartphone era). They were quite good back in the day!

  13. March 24, 2015 at 6:36 pm

Congratulations on your win. It’s very well deserved. I have to disagree with you on baths, though. I scribble most of my stories while bathing – mainly because its one time when I’m completely free of distraction and can just focus on what’s in my head!

    • March 24, 2015 at 7:56 pm

      Thanks πŸ™‚
I write all my stories either quickly at work or while watching Eastenders or Hollyoaks (yeah, yeah, I know…). I don’t think I’ve ever written a story while I wasn’t doing something else at the same time. And I wonder why I won’t commit to a novel…
