Sharing My World 2016 Week 19

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

You win a pet monkey but this isn’t just any old monkey. It can do one trick for you whenever you want from getting a pop out of the fridge to washing your hair. What would be the trick?
Ooh, ohh, a helper monkey! Here he is, ready for action.

Ready for action

Ready for action

I think maybe he should be tasked to the job of dusting, as this is the (negative) imprint he made on the shelf when I removed him for his photo op.

Dusting required

Monkey imprint

Or possibly he should be tasked to cooking after last week’s little accident. Note to self: never put eggs on to boil and then go off to play Fallout 4 on the PS4. Because after 3 hours they explode.

What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today?
Nothing,really. Just a normal Sunday.

What colour do you feel most comfortable wearing?
Blue. And while it’s not really a colour, rather the lack thereof, black. Very occasionally I’ll wear something with a splash of some other colour on it, usually if it’s a lovely sunny day.

Complete this sentence:  When I travel I love to…
… come home :-). It’s nice sometimes to visit somewhere new but it’s always nice to come home.

Interesting post, That sure was a long time to boil eggs.
Thanks for the warning, I will try not to do that.
    Happy days writing.

    • May 15, 2016 at 1:59 pm

Yeah, it’s best not to boil eggs for longer than 2 hours for sure 🙂

  2. May 15, 2016 at 6:21 am

Fallout 4, destroyer of eggs! 😆

I just did some dusting in my room, it looked remarkably similar to yours…

    • May 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm

I have surfaces I’ve never dusted (he said proudly)!
It’s amazing how quickly time can pass when you’re shooting ghouls in the head.

I want a dusting monkey too!

  4. May 15, 2016 at 8:28 am

Oh dear at the eggs! You complete eejit, but I totally get the time loss to gaming scenario lol

    • May 15, 2016 at 2:02 pm

When the egg blew up, I actually pulled my gun and spun around thinking my settlement was under attack. Then I realised it had happened in “The Real World”.

  5. May 15, 2016 at 9:00 am

The monkey might be good at dusting but he looks a bit flammable for cooking. Eggs also don’t do well in the microwave. Good answers, Ali. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne

    • May 15, 2016 at 2:02 pm

No, I can imagine they’d blow up in the microwave. That sounds like fun!
I’d never try to cook my monkey.

Oh I also want a helper dusting Monkey! LOL! Eggs are really amazing when they explode aren’t they? 😉

    • May 15, 2016 at 2:03 pm

Everyone wants a helper dusting monkey. They’re going to be busy!
It’s amazing what a loud bang exploding eggs make.

I know, right? We should totally do a cooking show. “How not to cook eggs with draliman and aunt Sharon!” 🙂

  7. May 15, 2016 at 2:21 pm

I agree! There’s no place like home. 🙂 The egg picture cracked me up! LOL! (Pun intended). I would like to have a monkey to clean house! haha

  8. May 15, 2016 at 2:56 pm

Nice read Ali! Keep sharing your interesting world!

  9. May 15, 2016 at 4:49 pm

Love your photos this week. So full of humor and “real life”. Thanks for sharing.

  10. May 15, 2016 at 5:36 pm

Note: Eggs also explode spectacularly in the microwave. EVEN if you put pinholes in them.

    • May 15, 2016 at 5:47 pm

Excellent. That shall be my next adventure 🙂

  11. May 15, 2016 at 10:16 pm

Can that monkey come help me dust, too? 😉

    • May 16, 2016 at 7:16 am

He’s pretty much in demand, but I’ll send him your way once he’s finished here 🙂

  12. May 15, 2016 at 11:23 pm

It’s Sunday. I wasn’t going to do anything either until I saw that dusty shelf of yours. That sent me off to dust the bathroom shelves. I was going to do the bookshelves, but that’s just too big of a task for a day off

    Cute monkey.

    • May 16, 2016 at 7:18 am

Oops, sorry about that! You should do what I do and pretend you haven’t seen the dust.
He’s a PG Tips monkey (that’s a brand of tea). I don’t drink tea, but I bought a pack just so I could get the free monkey 🙂

  13. May 16, 2016 at 2:32 am

I wonder if Swiffer has thought about incorporating monkey butt technology into its dusters?

The military may want to look into your egg bomb invention as well…

    • May 16, 2016 at 7:19 am

“New – now with Monkey Butt Technology (TM)”.
The military tried that, but the troops kept eating the ammo…

  14. May 16, 2016 at 4:13 am

There’s no place like home, really. 🙂 And, yeah, I love both opposing color effects we see in the visible spectrum, too– the absence all colors (black) and the presence of all of them (white).

P.S. Helper monkeys (if they ever exist),better run and hide from you. Lol!

    • May 16, 2016 at 7:20 am

I wondered where all the monkeys had gone 😦

  15. May 16, 2016 at 6:41 am

Your last answer paints the image of someone who steps out of the door all excited for an adventure only to run back in ten minutes later exhausted already.

Love the writing! It was nice of you to let us in on the egg fiasco. You could always velcro the helper monkey’s hands and then keep him around your neck while cleaning the house. Quite handy, I’m sure.

    • May 17, 2016 at 7:05 am

It was a bit of a fiasco 🙂
It might be fun to have a monkey velcroed around my neck while cleaning. He could give me tips! Or PG tips (since he’s the PG Tips monkey) ha ha.

It reminds me of a monkey I made long ago for my son. I don’t know what happened to it. I might’ve given it away.

  18. May 22, 2016 at 4:04 pm

The “Helper Monkey” is a gift that I would live to have as well… great minds seem to think alike. (Actually, I want the all-inclusive cleaning monkey…. I don’t want to help at all…)

  19. May 23, 2016 at 8:55 pm

I think your monkey really needs to take you in hand. Exploding eggs just aren’t on. Yes, letting his do the cooking is a great idea. Just pretend you can’t see the dust. And I have to agree with you about travelling. Coming home afterwards is just so nice.

    • May 24, 2016 at 12:56 pm

Exploding eggs would never have happened had the monkey been in charge.
