Sharing My World 2016 Week 21
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
What is your favourite go to beverage? Water, coffee, tea, coke, soda (non-alcoholic)
Fizzy lemonade, Coke and fizzy water with lime cordial (all nicely chilled!).

Mmmm. Nearly no calories of tasty refreshment.
I just checked and I currently have over 30 litres of lemonade in the house. I wouldn’t want to run out.
Can you change a car tyre?
Well, probably. I had to do it a couple of times with a car I had years and years ago. The biggest mistake I make is jacking it up before loosening the wheel. I’d just have to find the tools – I assume they’re under the floor in the boot – and work out where the jack goes. Common with many cars these days, I have a “temporary spare” – a small, low-speed wheel designed to get you to a garage.
On the other hand, I might just call the AA (Automobile Association). I pay them enough and I haven’t called them out for well over a decade.
Are you a listener or talker?
Definitely a listener. I don’t do small talk, and I won’t talk in a group until I’ve at least got “the lay of the land” – evaluated personalities and so on.
Would you rather have no internet or no cell phone?
Whaaaat? Whaaaat? Noooo! I don’t like the sound of this situation at all. I guess if I choose “no internet” I won’t be able to get it on my mobile phone either, which would reduce it to “just a phone”. I rarely use that function!
So a choose… (drum roll)… no mobile phone!

Aww, yeah, no phone for me too. When you say you like lemonade, you really like it. 😀

Yeah, I drink tons of the stuff every day.

You’d really be crippled without your internet wouldn’t you? You live there part of each day and slay monsters and bad guys. 😀 — Suzanne

Last time my internet went down I decided to watch some Netflix while I was waiting, then realised I couldn’t. I sometimes forget everything I use it for!

no internet would suck! I can’t believe we used to do research in a library which sometimes resulted in “ordering something in” and even then you wouldn’t know for sure if your query would be answered! I still adore and use libraries but not to look up journals. I don’t use my phone as a phone much either. LOL!

Sometimes I wonder how I got through a degree and a PhD with essentially no internet (obviously the internet was there but with no/very little content). Lots of hours in the library!

I’m pretty much the same. Could not change a flat for sure. I have and will can AA for that.

The package says “Share a Coke with everyone”… yet there are only 8 cans in it. Impossible, I say!

Get your own Coke, these eight cans are mine, I say!

If I go out I like a club soda and lime, it is so refreshing. I try to save the calories for food. Caffeine doesn’t agree with me. Lemonade is great.

I Googled “club soda” to see what it is, and I sometimes have something similar – sparkling water and lime juice. Very refreshing on a hot day!

I have never seen that brand of lemonade you have in the picture. I do not think I have access to it here. That looks real good.

It’s Tesco’s own brand. If you’re in the USA, Tesco had a failed attempt to break into the market under the name “Fresh and Easy” (I think) but are pulling out out after “failing to understand the American consumer” 🙂

Interesting. Thank you for letting me know. I guess I will have to move! lol

And here it is, right on schedule. That’s a lot of lemonade! That spare tire is colloquially known as a ‘donut’ over here (just in the case you’re even remotely interested). Sounds like a good plan . . . no small talk, calling AA (the auto people, not what AA is thought of, over here), and ditching the mobile. I don’t know if I’d be able to get rid of the Internet for more than a few days now that I’ve had it for so long; plus, I use it in for my writing, to research things and connect with others. Anyway, have a great week—now go enjoy some fizzy lemonade and hatch a plan for your next brilliant post! 🙂

I like my lemonade!
We have both “AA’s”, and I’m a member of both.
Many people in the UK now classify internet access as an “essential service” like water and electricity. Though that’s probably people who would “literally die” if they couldn’t update their Facebook status 🙂

Yeah, I’m not so much on the social media, but rather on the “instant information” and meeting new people spectrum, if you will. A fascinating insight, Dr. Ali, as always. Oh, and if you haven’t read it at some point, you might enjoy the New Statesman’s (Sept. 2015) article on “English magic: how folklore haunts the British landscape.” I know none of the places mentioned, other than in print or pictures and only a small fraction of the mentioned stories. Anyway, enjoy your weekend & week!

Thanks, I’ll see if I can track the article down. I’ll try the internet!

I would give you the link, but I’m becoming paranoid about viruses, trojans, etc., and don’t want to pass it inadvertently along. Even though I use Linux . . . TC, Leigh

LOL! You really like lemon aid! I have never changed a tire and hope I never have to. I would also have to choose, no phone.

Yes, I’m a big lemonade fan! I haven’t needed to change a tyre for a long long time. Modern tyres are much more robust I think.

I agree with you, they are more robust.

Fizzy lemonade sound really good … except I’ve never seen it in an american store. Drat!

There’s loads around but it’s usually white (like Sprite) – I don’t like the taste of that, it’s just basically sugared fizzy water. This stuff is properly lemony 🙂

I applied the same logic to the phone/internet question. 🙂

It’s too important a question to make rash decisions without proper thought 🙂

If they made a beer that didn’t affect you and had no calories but tasted exactly the same as the real thing, I think I’d drink that LOL.
I’m with you re no internet or no phone. I can live without a phone. If anyone wanted to contact me, they could send me an email 🙂

Mmm, beer-flavoured water 🙂
I’d prefer an email to a phone call, to be honest!

Yeah, 10 years in a call centre would do it, right enough!

It looks like you are well stocked in the beverage department! I would take no mobile phone over no internet too, for the same reason.

For some reason I’m plagued by the fear that I’ll run out of lemonade so I always keep in a good supply 🙂
