Sharing My World 2017 Week 7

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
Sheets? Is that those things we used in the 80’s? Okay, they still use them in hotels and guest houses and the like. On the rare occasions I’m in one of those places I always untuck the sheets before going to sleep. After decades of using a duvet tucked-in sheets feel very constraining.

Have you stolen a street sign before?
Nope. I saw a good number of student rooms at university with street signs in but I never nicked one myself.

Could be dangerous to steal a street sign blah blah blah could be warning of danger ahead blah blah blah very expensive those things blah blah blah who ends up paying we do the tax payer that’s who blah blah blah ought to be locked up blah blah blah…

Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
No, I don’t think I’ve ever cut out a coupon in my life. I know there are lots of people who save a fortune by doing that but they seem to spend most of their day doing it. I’d have to decide whether my time per hour spent finding and cutting out coupons is worth what I’d be saving…

Do you have freckles?
No, no freckles at all.

I didn’t realize sheets were a fad. Tucked in sheets should be illegal…

When I stand in for other carers it always fascinates me how differently they all make up the beds for me. A lovely carer from Zimbabwe always puts a top sheet on the bed beneath the duvet, the first time I got into the bed I felt like I’d been cling filmed to it! Needless to say it didn’t stay on for long. I don’t get the sheet fascination thing at all! I’m relieved to hear you didn’t nick any signs in your youth, my hubby worked for a local authority department and yes, he blah, blah, blahed when they went missing.

Hotels do that – a top sheet beneath the duvet. I guess it’s useful in earthquake zones or on a ship in bad weather 🙂
See, your hubby knows what I’m saying!

I never got anywhere with coupons. Sometimes, if they give us one on the way out of the store, I remember to bring it back the next time, but otherwise? Nope.

We use a fitted sheet and a duvet. Sheet? What sheet?

That’s the only coupons I use – the ones which come out of the till.

hahaha I laughed so loud at the blah, blah blah!
Funny, I grew up with duvets but as soon as I was on my own I bought sets with top and bottom sheets.

I thought I’m the only one who cuts out coupons and never use it. Not worth to bother to cut them.

It’s a common thing. I don’t bother cutting coupons any more unless they’re the special ones direct from my supermarket.

I’m the same with sheets! i hate the things now, even though I had many years of old-style sheets and blankets. You’re right, they feel really contstraining – like sleeping in a sleeping bag! My aunt uses sheets as well as a duvet, which is probably just habit. She is 88. Like you, I kick sheets free. Coupon collecting is not for me, either. I never think to look for any, although supermarkets often hand them out with the receipts. 🙂

Hoteliers probably wonder what I’m doing all night when they come to make my bed and the sheets are all untucked 🙂
I often use supermarket receipt coupons but only if they’re for something on my list 🙂

This ancient one had to look up the word duvet. We now have comforters instead of bedspreads- which I think is the same thing. My mom would get upset with me for sleeping under just a comforter.”It just wasn’t right.”
My house is full of signs and maps- none of them are stolen

I’ve heard Americans speak of “comforters” and always assumed they were some sort of “comfort blanket” type thing. But I got Google to translate just now and a “comforter” is in a fact a duvet.
When I think back a few decades to the sheer weight of blankets and bedspread etc, I’m very glad of duvets/comforters!
