Sharing My World 2018 Week 10
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
What did or did you not like about the first place you lived without your parents?
Well, it was a room in university halls. About half men, half women and half first years, half final years. Fourteen rooms on my floor, sharing a kitchen. So it was what it was. Noisy but not lonely. A nice sense of community.
What is your most favourite smell/scent?
Mmm, bacon. Nom nom nom.
Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?
It’s a wonderful magical sight to look outside and see everything white and still and quiet. However, I have to drive to work and my whole area is very hilly. The other week I couldn’t get off my drive until I cleared it let alone up the hill. The gritted road was 100 metres away and I couldn’t reach it.
So while I have to drive to work then no, I would not prefer snowy winters.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?
We had a nice birthday tea for Mum on Friday out at a local pub. It was a good evening.

I should have had bacon added to my burger.

I prefer a non-snowy winter too except that we need the moisture. I also love the smell of bacon cooking and I also love the smell of coffee roasting.

We have “closed” days. Until they clear our driveway, there’s no going anywhere and until the roads are clear, it’s too dangerous to even try it. It’s hilly, too, so you slide. I once slid down our nearest hill straight across the road into a parking lot. I was really lucky there was no truck coming. I’ll take NOT snow, thank you. But this is New England … so …

After wheel-spinning on the hill I just went back inside and let them know I’d be working from home. No sense taking chances.

I’ve heard that just one whiff of bacon has about 500 calories….

It’s a bit like passive smoking. Passive bacon.
Mmm, passive bacon.

Thanks for your birthday wishes to Mum 🙂
I did on Tuesday (which was her actual birthday) – I dropped round after work and she bustled off to make fried potatoes, bacon and eggs before I was even in the door 🙂

I know what you mean about the snow especially if there’s ice under it. Terrible driving. Good answers, Ali. 🙂 — Suzanne

I’m always hungry for bacon 🙂
Someone once took the bacon out of their breakfast roll and chucked it in the bin at work. I took it back out of the bin and ate it. You’d’ve thought I’d grown an extra head by the reaction 🙂
