Sharing My World 2018 Week 22

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

If you were to pack a basket for a picnic lunch, what would be in your basket?
Just the simple things, I’m a man of simple tastes.

Quail eggs, caviar on crackers, smoked salmon with lemon on freshly-cooked bread. I’ll leave it to the servants to sort out the crockery and silverware. I’m sure they won’t mind carrying the folding table across hill and dale. That sort of thing.

Nothing too fancy.

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?
Just the simple things, I’m a man of simple tastes.

Four-poster bed with curtains. Whirlpool bathing tub. Gift baskets containing hand-crafted chocolate, delivered daily. Twenty four hour silver service. Exclusive access to the penthouse lift. That sort of thing.

Nothing too fancy.

If you were to buy a new house/apartment what are the top three items on your wish list?
Just the simple things, I’m a man of simple tastes.

Hilltop setting with infinity pool. Separate luxury accommodations for the servants – got to keep them happy! Massive garage filled with classic cars, monitored 24/7 from the on-site security office. That sort of thing.

Nothing too fancy.

I think in the olden days this ‘simple man’ would have been whispered of as a ‘fancy-pants gentleman’.

Yes we do…. I am not longer Grisly Adams of the backyard. (but even then, I had a power cord to the tent to listen to late night baseball games and run a fan…)

Good thing you’re a man with simple tastes! Otherwise you might be wanting a Leer jet to whisk you to your private island resort. πŸ˜‰
Enjoyed this bit of toff humor.

You forgot the escargot, gold leafed toilet paper and the diving pool filled to the top with money. I’m afraid you’re a bit too simple for the simple life I enjoy…

Can I come work for you please, sir? Would you like a Pimm’s or G&T with your picnic? And red or white wine (or both?). I’m only asking so I know which glasses to pack.

Best to pack all the glasses, just in case. We folk of simple tastes often change our minds πŸ™‚

Right, sir. Just as long as you don’t change the time and venue.

This all sounds like your average titled wealthy 1920’s British hero or heroine. They inherited the money and had never really worked as it was below their station in life. They always had some problem though that made their life interesting. Their estate had a title, i.e. Fairlawn or Highmore. Tragically they lost their money in the depression and the estate may or may not have been bombed out of existence during WWII. Very tragic. πŸ˜€ — Suzanne

You should see some people, picnicking with lobster. Honestly. Everybody knows you don’t bring lobster to a picnic. Who do they think they are?
