Sharing My World 27-04-2020

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.

Do guns protect people or kill people? Or both?
A gun is just a tool, it’s the person pulling the trigger that kills. Technically, there’s very little reason for anyone outside of law enforcement and armed forces to own a gun (aside from pest control). Unfortunately in some countries ownership of guns has propagated so widely that people now buy guns because all the criminals have guns. It’s hard to get back from that.

Is it more important to be respected or liked?
I think I’d rather be liked. And respected. Respected. Liked. Why can’t I have both?

Like and respect me, dammit.

Is having a big ego a negative or positive trait?
I guess it’s a big positive if you’re a powerful business leader, as it’s a cut-throat environment. Unfortunately it doesn’t transfer well from big business to running a country. It just makes you look like a complete prat. Mentioning no names. Ahem.

Depending on your point of view, is death a new beginning?
Well, that’s the question, isn’t it. We’re all agreed that it’s an ending. Whether something else starts, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Running a country takes a special kind of person. If you’re an egomaniac, you’re a big embarrassment to the country you’re trying to lead. Unfortunately, Coronavirus is not our only problem at present I want to live long enough to read about this era in a history book. It will be a doozy of a story. Recently, a film was made by an Air Force pilot of a formation of flying saucers We hope they won’t ask to be taken to our leader. 🙂 — Suzanne

      “Take us to your leader!”
“Um, are you sure? You wouldn’t maybe prefer to talk to the Defence Secretary? Maybe? Please?” 🙂

It’s hard to explain the gun thing to someone who doesn’t live in the US. I don’t like it personally (and I loved shooting my father’s guns when I was younger), but I understand it.

I’m pretty sure we can all agree that death is the beginning of decomposition….

I guess it’s so ingrained in society you have to be part of it really, just as the opposite situation is for us.
Decomposition is a new beginning of sorts, I suppose…

I don’t think I could like someone without respecting them. The other way around, yes.

With utmost respect, Alistair, thanks for Sharing Your World. I like you too. (aww 😛 ) You gave wonderful and respect enhanced answers this week to my overly philosophic questions! I’ve enjoyed those who answer the gun question the way I would – that a gun is an inanimate object and can’t do a danged thing ‘on its own’…but in the hands of a human is a weapon or a safe-guard. Way deep.

I think Death is a New Beginning, Draliman. We cats have nine lives, and some already died eight lives in one live and every time they got a new chance for a new beginning. When you die your last live, maybe you get a chance to start all over again…so in fact, it’s an endless road ♾ 😺Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞

Yes guns kill people but directly people kill people. Murder comes from the heart and is then acted upon.

Guns are just metal and whatnot. Sadly many people can’t be trusted with them.
