FF – Nobody’s Fool
Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo was contributed by herself!

Simon waits until the window cleaner advances up the ladder, safely away, before opening his concealed safe.
Simon is nobody’s fool.
The window cleaner smiles as he checks his phone app, streaming footage from the camera concealed in his boot. It shows the location of the safe, the positions of the fingers on the keypad. Once the safe is closed, he will retreat, to return that night.
Simon fancies some fresh air. He opens the window, knocking the window cleaner from his ladder to a messy death far below.
An unfortunate accident?
Simon is nobody’s fool.

The best part is Simon got his windows cleaned for free. It’s a win-win.

Nicely done Simon. And I’m sure he has the money in the safe to buy the police off too when they come asking questions.

But… it was an accident, officer… and did you just drop that bulging brown envelope?

Did Simon consider that the window cleaner was live streaming to his accomplice? Simple Simon!

I didn’t even consider that. Simon says – oops!

These two seem to have deserved each other. However, Simon doesn’t know the video’s already been transmitted to an accomplice. 😉

Someone else mentioned that, I hadn’t considered it! Simon could be in for a nasty shock… 🙂

I really like the introductory line of your blog that sometimes life stops and makes you think, and realise several aspects which we often do not realise due to continuous running in life..
And yes great post too

And in the end, the valuable contents of Simon’s safe were awarded by a jury of his peers to the family of the window washer to compensate for his wrongful death. For the widow, two wrongs made a very lucrative right…

Steady on! Is that not murder by accident. What was in the safe that the man had set up an observation scam?
