Sharing My World 22-06-2020
Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.
Have you ever ‘”dined and dashed” (i.e. eaten the meal and then run out the restaurant door without paying)?
No. Who would do that? I guess if you’re starving and have no money.
Have you ever been in a car accident and either left the scene of the accident (providing it was a fender bender and not serious) or denied culpability for causing it when you did, (if it were minor or serious)?
No.
Have you ever found a wallet or purse or some money (over $20) in the street and just taken it, thinking ‘finders keepers, losers weepers? Or would you be ‘good’ and hand it in?
No. But that was back in the day, when it was still easy to find a police station that was open to the public. I’m not sure where to hand something like that in to be honest. In the village, I’d hand it into the little shop/post office.
It’s technically theft to keep money you find on the street, but I bet handing in a £20 note would create £100 worth of paper work for the police and piss them off.
What was the last thing you stole or shoplifted? If you never ever considered doing that, tell us your secret!
The “last thing I stole or shoplifted”? That makes it sound like a thing loads of people do! My secret? I’m not a thief.
Here’s a picture I took on a recent wander. It’s foxgloves, which I left alone and didn’t steal.

There’s no public police station?!
I’m all No on these questions too. Unless it’s just a buck, we’ll hunt someone down or turn it into the store.

There may or may not be a public-access police station – it moved, but I’m pretty you couldn’t just walk into the old one. Then, there are very few reasons anyone would need to, I guess.

Odd questions, but I’m happy to hear you’re an honest man, Ali. I’ve never considered shoplifting, either.

Had to be careful not to incriminate myself!

Yes, I had to just skip the shoplifting question, but I do like how you put it.

Shoplifting is theft too! The last survey I saw said it added about 50p to everyone’s weekly shop. No, neither the supermarkets nor their insurance companies cover the cost, we do.

Law enforcement agencies around the world are following this week’s Share Your World, waiting for someone to slip up and confess to a crime. I guess we’re all on to their little ruse….

I “copped” to the crime 😆 so I guess y’all are off the hook!! Actually, there are those who steal and think it’s okay. It’s not, but they have to find that out for themselves…it’s one of THOSE lessons everyone must learn.

I’ve seen one too many ne’er do wells arrested after flaunting their firepower and ill-gotten gains on Facebook…

Love the photo! My answer is “no” on all those questions as well.

Most people are pretty honest.
I snapped the picture during last week’s 2 day mini-heatwave 🙂

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World. You’ve joined a very honest ‘crew’ too…the majority of people responding to this particular Share Your World, said no to most or all of the questions too.
