Sharing my World 03-08-2020
Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.
What will finally break the Internet? Do you believe it can be broken at all?
I think I’ll leave this to the experts on highly popular Channel 4 sitcom “The IT Crowd” and their clueless manager, Jen.
What are some ‘red flags’ to watch out for in daily life?
When you’re walking down a dark alley at 3 o-clock in the morning and a guy wearing a hoodie pulls a knife and yells “I’m gonna stick ya!” There’s a vague possibility that’s going to turn nasty.
What’s the silliest thing someone has argued with you about?
I can’t remember what it was unfortunately but it was really silly and trivial. Neither of us was willing to give way. I was right though. Obviously.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve found lying on the ground/side of the road?
No idea. If I knew that in later life I was going to be answering blog questions about stuff like this, I would have kept a diary 🙂
No I wouldn’t, I’m too lazy 😦

You obviously missed the red flags at the start of the alley with the warning sign ‘Nasty knifeman ahead!’

The sign was written on red flags, too. Oh, man.

If the guy in the alley has a “red” hoodie on, you have a better chance of winning the fight. Don’t lose heart. He has one strike against him. 🙂 — Suzanne

I’ll just point at his shirt and laugh until he gets annoyed, charges and stumbles onto his machete 🙂

You could always confuse the guy in the dark alley by asking if he saw the red flags preceding you into the alley.
I have seen single socks several times on the side of the road. Where are the other ones?!
(This silly answer might break the internet.)

The other ones are in my washing machine 😦

Are my missing socks in your washing machine?

They might be. There’s a lot I don’t recognise. Do they have little sea life motifs? I can send them on 🙂

Tried the Google-thing. As you can see, it didn’t work. Maybe if we both do it at once?

I should have thought of this when answering the first question: The internet will break when every one reads your posts at the same time with a mouth full of coffee/tea. Voila. I will say no more.

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World. It’s been rare that I wandered a dark alley at 3 a.m. (I DRIVE places thanks). If I had wandered there though, and some idiot with too little brain leapt out brandishing a knife, I’d kick them firmly in their sand bags. Usually discourages the most determined miscreant. OR (and this one is unlikely since I don’t own a gun), pulling a gun and saying something like “Do you feel lucky punk?” Yeah. I’m the wrong gender, but I do tend to channel Clint Eastwood time to time. People find/see weird things along the road all the time. The fact that you haven’t doesn’t mean a thing. It merely means (perhaps) that you focus more on the brighter , loftier things to look at. Like stars or something. ❤

I always hope that if a knife-wielding maniac attacks me, I’ll take him out in just that way. I’ve see so many films where they disarm the baddies, it looks so easy…

That Internet meme is funny. I’ve always heard the It Crowd is good.

I don’t blame the poor guy in the hoodie for wanting to stick the guy who broke his precious internet. What luck he should meet him while making his 3 AM rounds of the dark alleys…

Ah, walking down dark alleys at 3 am is not a hobby of mine… But if I did chance it, and that hooded guy with a knife jumped out at me, he wouldn’t stand a chance once my Ninja Warrior alter ego took over. As for the IT Crowd, I’ve never watched it, although Jen’s knowledge of its workings sounds very similar to mine.

I always assume my inner Ninja will come to the fore in such a situation too 🙂
The IT Crowd is well worth a watch.
