Sharing My World 07-09-2020

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World, co-hosted by Roger Shipp with his Harry Potter-inspired questions.

What happened to cause you to discover ‘bullies” were real?
It was when I went to “big” school. It was just low-grade bullying. I only ever got punched once and that was right in front of a teacher. Heh heh.

Eavesdropping – When given the chance, how often do you eavesdrop?
I don’t really eavesdrop. I just sometimes hear other people’s conversations 🙂

Escalators, at one time, were the ‘next big thing’. When was the last time you rode an escalator?
Whenever I was last in Marks & Spencer. They have an escalator up to the first floor (if you’re American that’s probably the “second floor”), which is where menswear is. That was at some point before lockdown.

Have you ever ‘let’ someone win in a sports competition or a board game? How did it turn out?
Nope. I don’t think that does anyone any favours. No, you lost, get over it! Stop crying and man up, you snivelling little three year old!

Do our fears start with our DNA?
For sure. I’m terrified of DNA.

If you could have your hair any colour for 24 hours, what colour would you choose?
I’d leave it the way it is. Brown with edges of grey. Very distinguished, I reckon 🙂

When do you think a person gets old?
When they’re around 10 years older than me.

When I was in primary school a couple of brothers who were neighborhood bullies knocked me down on the way home from school. I told my father who handled it to my satisfaction. He expected me to take my own part with mean girls but he scared off bullying boys. He’d start off with “Now you listen to me.” I was never bothered by them again. He’d been a Chief Boatswain’s Mate in the Navy and said he wasn’t very big but always had big friends. 🙂 — Suzanne

Those three year olds really need to learn how to lose gracefully!

Always good to have a healthy fear of DNA. 👍

Yeah. And according to the TV it’s constantly getting rewritten by alien pathogens 🙂

Stuff of nightmares — When a three-year-old bully walks up to you after beating you in a chess tournament, pulls your greying locks, and says, “Hey! It’s in your DNA!” and shoves you up the down the escalator.

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World! So ‘old’ changes once every ten years? Heh. Being content with one’s own hair color is fabulous, so much less maintenance that way too! Sniveling three year olds are the reason I usually avoid games (with my family any way). They’re mean to me….. Bwahaha. Have a wonderful week!

You try to patiently explain to a kid why they lost horribly, all you get is tears, There’s no talking to some toddlers 🙂

Bullies… We had a bully at school. He was in 6th grade and only picked on the little kids (of course) – until one day when I decked him. Unfortunately, it was just as the principal walked out of his office. Explanations were demanded and given 😀
