Sharing My World 21-12-2020

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.

What is your favourite type of cookie (they’re called biscuits in Europe I believe)?
I would argue that “biscuits” are called “cookies” in America πŸ™‚ However, choc chip cookies are “cookies” in the UK too, and that is indeed my answer. Yum πŸ™‚

If you could choose one age and remain that forever, what would it be and why?
I would pick the Stone Age. I hope that’s that’s what the question means πŸ˜‰ It was a simpler time!

Do you have a traditional drink during the holiday season?
No. But I have got quite fond of Schloer recently, so that may become my traditional drink. I’m not sure how many years I have to drink it before it becomes “traditional”.

Are you able to still believe in holiday magic as you did when you were a child?
Holiday magic left the building alongside Santa 😦 And with no Christmas parties or anything this year, I couldn’t really get into the mood.

I gave up on gatherings when the virus was ushered in. I now live like a hermit but feel safer. It’s better than not waking up in the morning. At my age, it’s never a sure thing. Happy Holidays, Ali. πŸ™‚ — Suzanne

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World! Schloer? We don’t have that over here, but it sounds really REALLY good, which flavor is your favorite or do you love ’em all? Yum indeed! Many folks expressed the same sentiment that this year Christmas didn’t have any zing because anyone with sense is isolating and doing virtual stuff. Not quite the same, I agree – not that I would have been gathering even if it were safe. I hope your New Year’s is better! Happiest of Holidays to you sir!

I love all the Schloer flavours I have tried. I don’t know how long it’s been out in this country, I only remember it the past few years, and we only have it at Christmas. It’s not the cheapest.
Hopefully all this will be a memory come the summer.

Have you tried double chocolate chip? The dough is chocolate as well; double yum!
hehe I was just thinking the other day what it would be like to live in the Stone Age. The water was clean, the land unspoiled, the air fresh, no annoying appliances to fix. πŸ˜‰

Possibly that’s what we usually have – the choc chip cookies are certainly all a brown colour.
Another plus of the Stone Age was that life expectancy was apparently around 25, so you didn’t have to save up for retirement πŸ™‚

The Stone Age seems simple enough for my liking too.

Wonder what makes them cookies and not biscuits?

I wondered that too. Maybe because they’re generally a bit soft, and biscuits are always hard?

Remember: they didn’t have chocolate chips in the tone age. and the only beverage was water from the nearest lake. How much are you willing to forfeit? πŸ˜‰

I believe these days you can call it an “instant tradition.” Instantly traditional has become quite popular in the U.S.

I did wonder as I wrote it how long one has to do something before it becomes “tradition”.
