Sharing My World 21-03-2022
Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.
What very common thing have you never done?
I’m sure if someone mentioned something I would realise I haven’t done it, but I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. I’m much better remembering things I have done rather than things I haven’t π¦
Are we morally obligated to be charitable, if we have the means to?
No. I don’t feel morally obliged to do anything. People should do what feels right to them.
What is the most amazing fact you know?
I’m really useless at remembering things like “amazing facts”. I’d be the most useless member of the pub quiz team.
Whatβs your favourite sandwich and why?
Anything with cheese. Almost every sandwich I make has cheese involved. Sausage, fried egg and cheese with hot sauce is pretty good.

I have jars and jars of the stuff in the cupboard, fridge and even on the kitchen floor where I ran out of space π

So I guess we’ll never get to read of your experience on a trivia game show….

I’d never get through the door. Even the quiz machines in pubs power themselves off when they see me coming…

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World. You get the award for most interesting sandwich combo that is for sure! π Hot sauce…hmm. You might start a fad! π It seems the trivia game show episode (which may or may not have really happened, I’m just going by what Bill wrote) will remain “in the vault” with any common thing you may or may not have done. I agree with the obligation part of that question, most folks responding this week said they didn’t feel OBLIGATED, but that they did find it a good thing to do when possible! Heh. Have a great week! π

I dislike the term “morally obligated”. Sounds too much like “guilt trip” to me π

Hi – your love for cheese reminds me as to how many different cheeses there are out there !
I can’t have too often but I really do Ike it and just started to like “brie” in the last few years
π
Do you have a favorite kind of cheese?
LikeLike
Toasted brie is very nice.
I like a really mature cheddar or a nice (ie expensive, so that it’s strong but with no dodgy aftertaste) stilton.

you are so right – sometimes the expensive cheeses are completely different. For example, I could never stand the taste of blue cheese, but we recently had some on an appetizer and it was amazing – the best blue cheese ever.
and that aged-cheddar you mentioned sounds good –

It makes me sad that people swear off blue cheese forever after eating a cheap supermarket stilton with an iffy chemical aftertaste.

Well I learned a huge lesson – that not all cheese types are created equal
Now I must share that I had a sore throat all night after that – and not to sound weird –
But I Think the cultures from the cheese contributed to it (and I had a lot of that app because it was so good) but I eventually gargled
With warm salt water a few times and it all
Dissipated – but it reminded me also that “good” cheese has a lot more activity and enzymes then the processed crap!
