Sharing My World 11-04-2022
Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World, which this week is co-hosted by Tena.
Do You Prefer Salty Foods or Sweet Foods?
It depends on the time of day and what I’m in the mood for. Sometimes I really, really want a chocolate bar. I think that’s my body’s way of telling me my blood sugar is low. So I have to listen to it, don’t I? At the moment it’s telling my that only Easter eggs will do.
Would you rather be in a place where it is excessively hot or excessively cold?
Well, neither, really. I not only live in a temperate zone country, but in a temperate part of that country!
Generally I would say “cold” as it’s always possible to put on more clothes and switch on the heating, but if it was going to be one or the other all the time, I would go for hot and just get used to it. I generally struggle above 25 degrees but I’m sure I would grow to love it 🙂
Favourite Mode of long distance travel (Bus, Plane, Train, Automobile, or other).
My car. I like the autonomy, stopping where and when I want, the music I want, the temperature I want.
What was your favourite holiday growing up?
So a choice between Christmas and Easter… definitely Christmas, of course! Now I’m all grown up, I still like Christmas but it is an awful lot of hassle and money.

My sister calls that perfect weather Goldilocks..you know..”just right”.

Yep. It’s rarely “perfect” but also rarely dangerous in any way.

I had to look up what 25 degrees was. Where I live, that’s called a rare refreshing break in the summer….

Alexa informs me it’s 77F. It rarely gets warmer than that down here, as we’re almost completely surrounded by the sea, which is never far away. I live in the middle, “nowhere near the sea”, but it’s only 10-15 miles away in either direction.

Well, the Gulf of Mexico is technically the sea… but it’s just a giant humidity generator for the eastern half of the US, which helps us enjoy those “low to mid 30’s” even more during those wonderful summers. If it ever tops 25 this year, I’ll send you a sno cone….

I expect it’ll be chilly enough to survive intact. Funnily enough, our weather here is dictated by the Gulf Stream, which originates in the Gulf of Mexico. We get your second-hand weather. Thanks.

It does better for you than it does for us. The warm current keeps y’all from being West Scandinavia and mushing reindeer in the winter!

Great responses Alistair! I’m all about ‘temperate”. Sadly I live in a relatively evenly split cold or hot zone, depending on the time of year. 😦

I’ve mostly avoided eating chocolate this Easter. Mainly because I’m in isolation. Yep, I’ve caught the dreaded Covid. Might be an idea not to visit Australia in summer Ali, 37-42C some days in my area. I’d love Autumn all year round 😁

Oh no, I hope you’ve not got it too bad and you get better soon.
Those temperatures would wipe me out I think 😮

I think most of us would like temperate on the side of cooler rather than hotter, but I don’t think the world is going to cooperate.
