Sharing My World 04-04-2022

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.

Are you more productive at night or in the morning? Do you think it’s possible to change and get used to another schedule?
I’m definitely more productive in the morning. I like to get up early and get stuff done, and I naturally wake up early. I expect even I could change given time, though (if I had to).

What’s the biggest vehicle you’ve driven? If you don’t drive, what’s the biggest vehicle you’ve ridden in?
I haven’t driven anything very big. Just a high-roofed Ford Transit van which I used to drive my stuff back home after university. That was 250 miles each way. Three seconds after leaving I nearly scraped the neighbour’s car as I forgot to take the extra length into account when I left the parking spot, so I won’t be driving a lorry any time soon.

What songs would be played on a loop in hell?
Screeching opera. I bet even opera lovers would go crazy after hearing someone hit the high notes constantly for eternity.

What does it mean to be a person? What constitutes “personhood?”
A living human being. Whereas “personhood” is a personal head covering which keeps the rain off.

Just be sure to label it. So I can get the dog out of the room before I play it…. 🐶

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World! Great explanation of a person too! I like “light’ opera (“The Marriage of Figaro” type operas) and I dislike intensely the ‘screechy” kind, so you’re right. Screechy opera on loop would be perfect for Hell. And, apparently, E.S.’s dusty vinyl archive (c) Have the rest of a fabulous weekend and a great week! 🙂

I did go to see “Carmen” once and quite enjoyed it. I don’t like the screeching soprano solos though.

Exactly. I wanted to see “Madam Butterfly” at least once, but I suspect there is screeching. I think taking some ear plugs and discreetly stuffing them in one’s ears during the screeching might be a way to enjoy the rest of the opera. They do such magnificent sets and the stories are so good. If you ever happen to see “The Marriage of Figaro” (a very light hearted comedy opera), I think there’s minimal screeching or I’ve just forgotten.

It’s those screeching high notes that get me. They make my brain shake in my skull. I am beginning to hate those high shrill sopranos.
