Sharing my World Week 38
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

Would you want $200,000 right now or $250,000 in a year? Itβs safe to assume all money is tax free.
I’ll have the bigger amount next year, thanks. And I’ll take it in local currency, too. None of this dollar nonsense. The extra I’d pay on my mortgage this year is not nearly as much as the extra money I’ll get next year, at which point I’ll pay the mortgage off.
Is it more important to love or be loved?
I dunno. Can I have both?
List things that represent abundance to you.
Hmm. The definition of abundance is “a very large quantity of something”. Currently there is an abundance of cars on the road. There is also an abundance of rain falling from the sky.
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.Β
Nothing, dammit.

What colour do you feel most comfortable wearing?
Dark blue. And black. So I can sneak around without being noticed. Like a ninja. But without the sword-waving.
What is your favourite type of dog? (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal or character in a movie)

The Lads.
List at least five favourite flowers or plants.
Five? I’m not sure I know the names of five. I like heather and lavender. These blue ones in my back garden are nice. I expect they’re bluebells because they’re blue and they look like bells. But they might not be.

These are nice too. There’s at least two different types of flowers here, so that makes five!

Some of these might be my favourite flowers (taken at Bodnant Gardens, North Wales)
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Oh boy, this again. Am I the only person who just goes through life, day to day, without getting particularly inspired? I blame fifty hours at work and then being very tired after all that.

What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?
Hmm. Maybe an early morning trip around a nice location, such as Godrevy, followed by lunch, an afternoon nap and then some more relaxing π

Complete this sentence: My favourite place in the whole world…
Home, I guess. It’s nice to get out and about but also very nice to come home again.
Who was your best friend in elementary (junior) school (prior to age 12)?
He was called Michael. We met at around age 5 or 6 and were best friends until around early teens. I’m not sure what he’s up to now, we lost touch.
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Oh no, this question again π¦ It was very sunny the other day and I was inspired to close the curtains so I could see the TV properly. Ahem.
Sharing My World 2017 Week 35
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World. Cee is on holiday, so this week’s guest host is Emilio! Thanks for stepping into the breech π

Have you ever been pulled over by a cop?
No. Yes. Sort of. It was one of those checkpoint-type things while I was living in Ireland. I don’t know what they were looking for, if anything in specific, but I just rolled down the window, gave him my best grin, said “hi!” and he waved me on.
What have you always wanted? Did you get it?
What I’ve always wanted has changed over the years. Various toys when I was a kid – I got some of them. I always wanted to be a top spy when I was little. That didn’t happen. It’s probably for the best. There’s nothing I particularly want right now. Except maybe a supermodel for a girlfriend. That’s probably not going to happen either. That’s probably for the best too.
What is your perfect pizza?
Every pizza is my perfect pizza! How can any pizza not be perfect? It’s pizza! Here’s one I made earlier…

Yum
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Nothing, as usual. The week came, the week went.
Sharing My World Week 34
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time?
Always off, unless I’m about to go back in. Electricity isn’t cheap, and the more you use, the more pollution is created by the power station.
I don’t actually turn most of the lights off, I tell Alexa to do it for me. And the kitchen is on a motion sensor. Light switches are soooo last year.
What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500?
Dunno, that’s a very middling amount of money (currently Β£390). I don’t need anything for that amount of money at the moment so I’d probably buy more Premium Bonds. Unexpectedly winning a vast amount of money against all odds would be pretty enjoyable.
Complete this sentence: My favourite thing to do on my cell phone is…
… ummmm. My mobile phone is a tool. I don’t really do “enjoyable” things with it, so I guess taking photos sometimes when I arrive at work and there’s a lovely sunrise.

What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
As usual, nothing. I go to work, I come home. I guess I’m a difficult person to inspire.

What was the last URL that you bookmarked or saved?
It was a URL for a site I use for work. Pretty much all URLs I bookmark are for work. I find that bookmarks can get out of control quite quickly, until you end up needing bookmarks to find the bookmarks.
Do you believe in the afterlife? Reincarnation?
Not really, it’s more of a hope. A universe without me in it? Outrageous π
If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?
Short stories. Very short stories. I started writing a novel which is currently a short story as I only made it through one and a half pages before getting bored. I’m sure I’ll get back to it one day π

If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts? Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?
I’ve worn glasses since I was in primary school. I had a brief flirtation with contact lenses in my mid-twenties. Due to my astigmatism I had to have the hard ones (the soft ones couldn’t handle it back in those days). They were all very well but a lot of hassle to clean, a bit uncomfortable and if I looked the wrong way and blinked they’d fly out π¦
I also had a habit of falling asleep in lectures. And trust me, you do not want to fall asleep with contacts in.
Are you more of a dog person or a cat person?
A cat person. As far as dogs go, they’d have to be stuffed ones.
Stuffed cuddly toys, I mean. I don’t go out and kill dogs and stuff them. That would be gross and wrong.

The Lads.
If you were to buy a new house/apartment what are the top three items on your wish list?
A decent-sized enclosed back garden, maybe with a little stream gurgling through it. A couple of extra rooms. And a lovely view – a lake and some forest with a mountain here and there in the distance would be ideal π
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Nuffin π¦ I just ground my way through the week. But if you want something inspirational, here are Grumpy Cat’s words of wisdom for this month. Words to live by.

Sharing My World 2017 Week 31
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World series.

List some of your favourite types of teas.
I only really drink fruity tea. And that’s really a “fruit infusion” rather than actual tea. I would drink tea on occasion but I don’t drink milk so it would be with lots of lemon juice, in the continental style.
If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?
No honking, please, I have one of my heads.

What are a couple of things people could do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?
Leave me alone, please.
Regardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: if you could be an athlete what would you do?
I think I’d be a long distance runner. It would be cool to just run and run without a care in the world, getting away from it all and keeping fit at the same time π

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

What is your favourite cheese?
Mmm, cheese. Hard cheese, soft cheese, white cheese, blue cheese, cheese with stuff in, cheese without stuff in, stuff with cheese in, stuff with cheese on, cheese with holes, cheese without holes, I Buy Any Cheese dot com.
I’m quite fond of cheese.
Are you left or right handed?
Right. My left hand often asks if it can do more, but to be honest it’s not really up to the job. Just concentrate on changing gears, leave the business of steering to the right hand, I say. Let’s not end up in a hedge.
Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?
Neither. I’m too lazy to exercise my body and I do complicated stuff all day at work. The last thing I want to do after a long day at work is brain-teasers and challenging books.
Complete this sentence: Hot days are…
Few and far between π¦
Sharing My World 2017 Week 29
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

How do you like to spend a rainy day?
Well, we get plenty of those. It’s TV, reading and PS4! To be fair, that sounds like a non-rainy day too.
List at least five favourite treats. (They do not have to be sugary).
Chocolate bars. I get addicted so I hardly ever eat them. Black Forest Gateau. A new video game. Plus two other treats I can’t think of right now because it’s quite early still.
Whereβs your favourite place to take out-of-town guests?
I don’t have out of town guests. Or any guests. But fortunately since this is Cornwall they can go anywhere and it’s all very nice. Godrevy, Tintagel and Trelissick would be good starts.
You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?
Firstly it’s highly unlikely that I would be in a lift in the first place. If I were, I would want to be trapped with someone who doesn’t have any gung-ho ideas about fiddling with the controls or opening the escape hatch in the roof (which only exists in films anyway), as both of those actions would likely get me killed.
