Look At Me!

Smashing – it’s time for the first Friday Fictioneers of 2014! Rochelle is our host, and this week’s photo has been supplied by her daughter-in-law!

How did the doggy get up there?

All the other amazing entries can be viewed here.

As a special “treat” since it is the first Fictioneers of 2014, I have popped one of my infamous DraliDoodles at the end so that you can all gaze in awe1 at my amazing2 artistic skills3.

1 – “awe” is an unlikely emotion when viewing DraliDoodles
2 – “amazing” is an incorrect term when used to describe DraliDoodles
3 – “skills” – this word has been used incorrectly in this instance

Look at me! Look at me! I am at the top of the tree, oh yes. On top of the world!

Ruler of the planet! Bwahahaha!

Gaze upon me from the ground far below, tiny human child, for I am supreme! I cast my eye over the whole of creation, and I shall rule it all. The grass, the trees, the humans, my fellow canines – all will bow down and pay homage to me!

I am King of the… wait, what’s the female human bringing out? Are those… dog treats? Oh boy! Make way, coming down! Clear the way! Woof!

Ha… indeed… a dogs attention span can easily be broken by a bitch or food… must like most men… hmm

    • January 2, 2014 at 9:36 pm

I guess it would translate to something like “And now I’m going to… hang on, what’s that supermodel in the Ferrari delivering? Ooh, beer and pizza!”

  2. January 2, 2014 at 9:31 pm

I am generally awed by anything someone else does that I wish I could do. So I’m awed!

  3. January 2, 2014 at 10:05 pm

    Dear Ali,

I do believe you’ve captured the inner-workings of Dog. His kingdom surrendered for a doggie treat. I give it two paws up.

Happy New Year, Woof and Shalom,

    • January 3, 2014 at 7:32 am

      Dear Rochelle,
Dog knows where his priorities are!
      “Two paws up” 🙂
Happy New Year to you too!

  4. January 2, 2014 at 10:54 pm

Love the story and the doodles! As Fido is king of the universe, so too are you king of the doodle 🙂

    • January 3, 2014 at 7:33 am

Fido and I make a good team 🙂

  5. January 2, 2014 at 11:21 pm

    Yay Drali Doodles!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. January 3, 2014 at 1:58 am

:lil: funny story and interesting darlidoodles.

    • January 3, 2014 at 7:35 am

I thought it was time for something a bit lighter for a change!

  7. January 3, 2014 at 3:19 am

Doodles are back, yeah. Nice tail, ha. Now you need a guard dog for that house.

    • January 3, 2014 at 7:35 am

Not the dog in the story though – he’s too easily distracted 🙂

  8. January 3, 2014 at 7:48 am

I loved this. How quickly the focus changes when treats are dangled. So clever, made me think of the commercials for Beggin strips dog treats. I fear this dog will not find world domination when so easily manipulated by a little girl. 🙂

    • January 3, 2014 at 8:03 am

“Maybe I’ll dominate the world tomorrow, right after I finish these scrummy snacks!”
      I’m glad you enjoyed it!

  9. January 3, 2014 at 8:03 am

I’ve never heard a more convincing canine voice… beautifully captured.

    • January 3, 2014 at 8:08 am

Thanks! He had big dreams until the snacks arrived, then reverted to form.

  10. January 3, 2014 at 1:29 pm

Hahaha, I love this. The drawing just makes the only thing better. Great start to the new Fictioneer year!

    • January 3, 2014 at 1:49 pm

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I thought I’d add a DraliDoodle to mark the first FF of the year 🙂

      • January 3, 2014 at 3:25 pm

Oh yes! DraliDoodles are the perfect addition to any FF. 🙂

  11. January 3, 2014 at 2:25 pm

This was great. I’m fairly certain dog treats were invented to keep the canines from taking over the world. They can’t focus on anything else once the treats come out. The DraliDoodle is a nice touch. haha

    • January 3, 2014 at 2:27 pm

You could be right about the dog treats. Catnip certainly works on cats!
I’m glad you enjoyed the DraliDoodle 🙂

Must be bacon treats..my dog loves them..and scarily enough, they even smell good!

    • January 3, 2014 at 6:43 pm

Mmm, bacon. I wouldn’t care if it said “for doggie” on the packet, if it has bacon in it then I’ll eat it 🙂

A few years ago a co-worker took the bacon out of her breakfast roll and chucked it in the bin. Seconds later it was out of the bin and in my mouth. You wouldn’t believe the fuss! It was all round the company in minutes. It’s the 10 second rule, right? Right?

  13. January 3, 2014 at 5:22 pm

The DraliDoodle added a lot to the story. I loved both! Poor Fido, just can’t turn down those doggy treats. 🙂

    • January 3, 2014 at 6:47 pm

You can’t go wrong with a DraliDoodle!
Fido could have been someone, but those doggy treats were just too tempting 🙂

  14. January 3, 2014 at 9:56 pm

    Doggone good start to 2014.

    • January 4, 2014 at 4:58 am

I thought I’d start off 2014 with a fun story, I’m glad you enjoyed it and the DraliDoodle 🙂
      Happy 2014 to you too!

  16. January 4, 2014 at 5:26 pm

Very Ozymandog! I like the Ozymandog doodles too. There’s a moral in this humorous tale/tail. Something about keeping one’s carnal impulses underpaw! 🙂

    • January 5, 2014 at 5:09 am

He’s not doing so well with his impulse control at the moment, is he? 🙂

      • January 6, 2014 at 5:45 pm

He’s better at it than some humans I know! (Including myself)! Ann

      • January 7, 2014 at 7:30 am

        Better than me too!

  17. January 4, 2014 at 7:11 pm

Loved the story and the artwork. The story reminds me of another dog story where he was constantly distracted by everything he saw, smelled, or heard. Fun stuff!

    • January 5, 2014 at 5:12 am

I’m glad you enjoyed it – I thought I’d start the year off with something a bit lighter than my usual stuff!

  18. January 5, 2014 at 1:49 pm

    Cute story, love the drawings!

  19. January 5, 2014 at 6:13 pm

Exactly why dogs don’t rule the world. Nicely done.

    • January 5, 2014 at 6:26 pm

He never be able to concentrate on one thing long enough to make any decisions!

  20. January 5, 2014 at 9:07 pm

Ha ha! Yes, I bet the treats would bring the doggy down. Fun story! Happy 2014 to you!

    • January 5, 2014 at 9:22 pm

Doggies are real suckers for doggy treats 🙂
      Happy 2014 to you too!

  21. January 6, 2014 at 3:33 am

Treats are the best dog controls ever! Although my terrier might choose a flying leap from the tree in order to get one, and that would end poorly.

    • January 6, 2014 at 7:26 am

Oh dear. Hopefully your terrier can’t climb trees!
