Sharing My World 2015 Week 5

Every week Cee over at her photography blog poses four questions for us to answer, so without further ado let us begin.

Do you prefer shopping or going to a park?
Hmm, let me think. What a choice! Let’s take a look at a couple of pictures.

Gardens 1

Ah, the agony of choice. I think I’ll go with Picture (B). The park (this is Trelissick Gardens, in Cornwall). I’ll do my shopping online.

If you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?
What? A shoe? I wouldn’t want to be a shoe at all. If I had to be a shoe, I’d be a really unfashionable rubbish shoe. Then I could sit all warm and dry on the shoe rack and laugh at all the other shoes as they got dragged through puddles and mud and whatnot.

“Ha ha ha, look at you! All covered with puddles and mud and whatnot!” I’d say.

What’s the story behind a time when you got locked out?
A friend and I were in a little town near Stuttgart for a physics conference and we turned up at a tiny guest house. The only person there when we arrived couldn’t speak German (I think he was maybe Greek) so we went away and came back later when we were informed that the doors were locked at midnight.

Off to the pub we went.

We ran back later and arrived at ten to twelve, only to find the doors locked! We ended up going to the proper hotel our boss was staying at with no coats, no luggage and booking a room there (I had my credit card with me).

The conference desk tried to sort it out the next day, but they couldn’t get any sense out of the people at the guest house either (they got the same non-German-speaking person). So they were on our side. And we got to stay in a decent hotel. Hooray!

Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?
No nuts for me, thanks! I’m not allergic or anything, I’m just not a big fan. I’ll eat nuts if they’re heavily encased in chocolate :-).

See you again next week!

And then marketing people wonder why people are more and more shopping on line. You gave he perfect reason.

Trelissick Park would do it for me any time – and I agree that shopping’s an abysmal pastime at any time at all! But the pictures are excellent .I love your shoe answer. Very clever – not to mention hilarious. As for your German experience . . . Oh dear suddenly becomes hooray! So that’s all right, then. Clever and funny post. 🙂

We could have been homeless in Germany. Lucky I had my credit card!
I’m glad you liked my answers and picture 🙂 The crowd picture is from the internet, I don’t like to get that close to crowds.

Well done on the shoe answer! Stay warm, dry, and with no risk of athlete’s foot getting in there either.

I agree on the shopping vs park. That park looks blissfully peaceful.

It is a lovely place to spend time.
I may be a shoe, but there’s no way some nasty foot is going to, um, set foot in me.

I loved your old shoe, Ali. That problem with the guest house and language reminded me of the time my husband tried to send a fax to a business number in Russia. The secretary kept picking up the fax phone and shouting NYET! I told him that the company would never do business if they couldn’t keep that woman from picking up the fax phone. I agree about the crowd and the park. That’s one beautiful park. 🙂

It is a beautiful park (technically “gardens”!).
Don’t you just love liaising with people in other countries? Especially if they don’t speak the language of the country they’re in, or pick up the wrong phone.

Online shopping is where I am at as well… Hate the crowds. Your show is rather vindictive? I hope it has brighter days?

I like your park photo. I would take a park any day of the week, but your dramatic photos made the choice even easier. Thanks for sharing.

I still think being a loafer is the best choice. All you have to do is hang around, loafing.
