MFTS – The Origin of Hell on Earth
Here’s my story for Barbara Beacham’s Mondays Finish the Story. It’s slightly over the word count but I’ve already chopped out 40 words!
The supplied sentence is in bold in my story, and you can see all the other contributions by clicking on the blue froggy.
The cemetery spread along the area known as Devils Abode.
However, the Devil was away on business and the minions were having a party! There was jelly and ice cream, little sausages on sticks and, of course, unspeakable torments.
All the best demons had turned up. All the worst demons too. Chamblezook, Defiler of Small Animals, had accidentally marked the invite “public” on FaceScroll.
Chamblezook watched in horror as the demons… “tore up the joint”, he believed was the “in” term. He gasped as he looked out the window to see Grigglebarg, Corrupter of Kitty-Cats, taking a leak on the Master’s prize-winning geraniums.
Then he heard a voice. “He’s mine, she’s mine, missed him…” The Master was coming, reading the graveyard headstones. He would not be pleased.
He was not pleased. In his rage the Master created Hell on Earth. He later admitted he may have gone too far, but billions of humans would now be subjected to the worst torment ever devised.
And thus the Reality Show was born.
My reality show would be rather boring. 😦

Mine too. Get up, go to work, come home, have tea, watch TV, go to bed. I’m sure plenty would still watch it 🙂

Ha! I love the names you came up. Very entertaining, Ali!

Can you think up some for a sea monster? I need help! Thanks. I need something cool like Godzilla. 🙂

I’d recommend not using “Pete” though 🙂

Yeah, not quite scary enough maybe. 🙂

Oh, yes. Oh definitely, yes. We actually have never made it through a single episode of any reality show. We did try, a couple of times, on the theory that we ought to at least know what the fuss was about … but it was too awful. Hell on earth indeed!

The only ones I’ve ever watched were stuff like X Factor and bits of Big Brother (my ex used to watch them). Urgh.

Oh this made me smile instantly it was dark but oddly cute too. Do you still make dralidoodles?

I’m glad you liked it!
I still do the occasional DraliDoodle. The most recent major one was for ES’s last competition (which I won!). The link’s in the sidebar (Woodland Games).

Me too! A party without little sausages on sticks is no party at all.

Hilarious and engrossing. Wonderful take. Simply loved it. Was Voldemort in the party?

I’m glad you liked it! Voldemort was definitely there, all the best baddies were 🙂

Yes I would describe the “reality shows” like that. 😀

I guess someone must watch them. Though maybe they’ll think twice now their origin has been exposed 🙂

You never disappoint with your kiicker at the end:). I have to agree, those reality TV shows are hell on earth. I avoid them like the plague…well, with the exception of the last twelve contestants on Masterchef. But The Bachelor, Big Brother, Survivor, not a hope in hell you’ll get me to watch them. I’d rather go to the dentist 😮
LikeLike
Wow, you really hate them! Though I think I would too 🙂

Oh, so true, so true, horrid the shows they’ve put on. I watch reruns, or listen to music, and would cancel cable if not for hubby’s sports. But gosh, what a horrid, horrid idea! Great flash!

The Devil has outdone himself this time. You know how bad these shows are when even the Devil is having second thoughts!

I’m surprised Brad and Chad didn’t crash the party. You can’t have reality TV without them…

I actually nearly put them in, but I’m trying not to use them too much in case they get “old”. They would make great Big Brother contestants!

hahaha.. the reality shows are quite torturous .. suffering public humiliation and still appear to be happy .. I love the names in the story with their occupations. Good one.

Corrupter of Kitty Cats is my favorite. And now I want to introduce a new sea monster to my world and name him Pete. Very funny story!

Pete’s the sort of sea monster all the other sea monsters make fun of because of his name, but he ends up rescuing them all or some such 🙂
There’s a specialised demon for everything!

A very amusing story, Ali. 🙂 Reality shows are definitely Hell on Earth! I have to admit, I read the word ‘minions’ at the beginning and immediately pictured little yellow things…
LikeLike
I thought that too! I originally typed “minions” with a capital “M” but realised that was even more like the film. They’ve ruined a perfectly good word 😦

Ah, that explains things… Also, I had a boss called Pete once – definitely a demonic name 😀

Wow, Ali. Now I know where that idea came from. I’m not a bit surprised though. I should have guessed. Hilarious. I laughed out loud at that story. Well done. 😀 — Suzanne

that sounds like some party – although you’d have to be pretty game to gatecrash a demon party! great work drali – a very entertaining read as usual, although why do I get the feeling that this was written in front of the telly?? :p

I write almost everything in front of the telly – but not a reality show 🙂

It’s addictive – so long as you don’t mind a bit of gratuitous violence 😁 and don’t require long term commitment as its only a mini series..
