Trees Behind My House

Here are some trees behind my house, taken from my dinky back garden earlier this evening. But the photo looked too sharp. What to do?

I found a “soften” button on “old faithful” (Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8) so I set it to 10% and there was another setting as well (“edge importance” or some such which I also fiddled with) so I clicked it and it all went blurry.Β Then I found a “sharpen” button so I clicked that as well to stop it being so blurry! I don’t know what I’m doing :-).

I’m not sure. It’s some sort of fruit! It’s not my tree though, it’s just the other side of my fence.

I think the picture looks just fine πŸ™‚ Looks as though there are four different trees.

Looks like you found a happy medium, Ali. Sometimes experimenting is the way we learn how to best use tech. Well done. πŸ™‚

That’s how you figure it out. You play with it. Nice effect πŸ™‚ If you can just remember how you did it, you can do it again. I liked PSP when it was JASC. Then Corel bought it and it got very fancy … and much harder to use. It’s as difficult as Photoshop, but without the classy results.

I’ve clung onto Jasc PSP for dear life (I heard Corel had ruined it). It’s even on my work machine for doing basic stuff (the people who do proper design have Photoshop). It’s so basic that it installs on anything (even Windows 10, which I’m still loving).

yeah trees, I love a good tree. Ha.
I make a copy of a photo that I am going to play with. I can compare my original and what I’ve done. I’ve had to delete a few pics and start over.

Come on DrAli, get a long handle with a scoop or net, apples! No one will see you, lol.

I tried several settings in between as well.

I can sometimes spend ages playing around with settings in Photoshop! That’s how you learn what works. πŸ™‚ Trees always make for a lovely view.
