Sharing My World 2015 Week 39

It’s time to Share My World again, with the questions posed by talented photographer Cee.

Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?
Over, obviously :-).

As well as ensuring that one doesn’t smack one’s hand into the wall while using this configuration, according to the excellent website and essential research tool Toilet Paper History (hey, you really can find anything on the interwebz) the “official” inventor of the toilet roll holder, Seth Wheeler, clearly showed the toilet paper in an “over” configuration in his patent application.

So there.

If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Recently I had to be a pen, now a crayon. I’m regressing. Soon I’ll be a finger paint.

I guess some sort of purple/mauve/indigo/deep blue colour. That’s my favourite.

You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?
That depends on what “nothing” means. I’m assuming just sitting there not reading, watching TV or anything. I don’t really do that. But if I’m in a situation where I’m waiting for something, say at the doctor’s, I’m okay just sitting there watching people come and go.

Would you accept $5,000 to shave your head or dye it bright lime green and continue your normal activities while not explaining the reason for your haircut or colour?
Well, five grand is five grand! I’d go for the shaving of the head, I think. It would only take around three months for my hair to grow back to the way it is now. I don’t know how I’d get away without telling anyone, though. They might think I’m having chemo or something and that wouldn’t be fair on them.

I suppose bright lime green would quickly grow out, too. And think of all the lovely things I could buy!

Lovely set of weird questions! recently had family staying, my niece made the comment that was so nice to be in an over house, so she didn’t have to reverse the roll every time!

I’m forever reversing the roll at work. I expect the “culprit” then reverses it back 🙂

Go for the green! Our cashier at a store yesterday had pink hair and I spent 20 minutes discussing how to get the same look. Luckily it wasn’t busy there and, well, M knows I’m going to ask questions when I see technicolor hair in real life 🙂

Cool! If you get it done I guess you need to contact Cee for the reward money 🙂

I haven’t managed to do the SYW for a few weeks now, but why don’t I just copy yours? Most of the time I say, me, too, anyway. And this one is a 100% fit. Extra points for that website, I always knew ‘over ‘ was right, but would people listen?

It’s hard to patiently explain to people that “over” is correct because it “just is” so I thought some research was in order!
Feel free to copy and paste 🙂

Hilarious, Ali. I’m so happy my “over” way of putting on the toilet paper roll was right all along. I was so worried I was doing it wrong.(just kidding) You’ve done it again. I could just picture a crayon with your face on it. 😀

Oh yes, I can definitely see you finger painting 🙂 I’d shave my head or dye my hair green for $5,000US dollars (even better if it were £5,000) I’d be able to take my friend back to visit her sister in Cornwall and she could show me the sights. and we’d have fish and chips with mushy peas for dinner 🙂

Lime green hair doesn’t seem strange to me. Hey, you could shave your head then paint your scalp lime green! That might even get you $10,000…

I’d be thrilled to accept $5,000 to be bald or dye it lime green. I’ve always wanted to make my hair an outrageous colour!
I really enjoyed this line of questioning and your answers!
And this: “But if I’m in a situation where I’m waiting for something, say at the doctor’s, I’m okay just sitting there watching people come and go.”
I, too, like doing that. I actually prefer it to reading, which is usually something I’d choose first.

When there are a lot of people coming and going I prefer watching to reading, too.
Why wait for the five grand? – dye your hair 🙂

I’m waiting for it to go totally white, and THEN I’ll dye it lime green or something. I mistrust the chemicals which bleach your hair, which apparently you need to do, if you want the color to take.

Yeah, you don’t want the chemicals to make it go all crispy and frizz off or anything 🙂

Great diagrams and explanations about ther loo roll. I agree that having it ‘under’ is quite unthinkable! I’m not sure what I’d do if offered all that money to shave or dye my hair. At my age, both of those would be laughable. But then again… there are such things as wigs about. I could probably manage that for $5,000. 🙂

I didn’t think of a wig! Problem solved and five big ones in the bank (temporarily)!
“Under” indeed. What are people thinking? 🙂
