Sharing My World 2016 Week 24
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
What is the most fun thing you did in school?
I most enjoyed school trips. There was a memorable trip to London where we visited the zoo and watched the play “Mousetrap” at the theatre, and I made new friends too. But imagine the bravery of the teachers taking a whole class of 12 year olds so far away for a whole weekend!
We also went on several trips around Cornwall and West Devon, including the highest spot in Cornwall, the amusingly named “Brown Willy” (which was recently voted among the top five rude place names in Britain!).
What is your favourite type of dog? (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal or character in a movie)
Stuffed doggies!

The Lads.
You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met. Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?
Nooo, A thousand times no! And not if I wasn’t by myself either.
Complete this sentence: Never In My Life Have I…
… chainsawed my own arm off for a drunken dare while singing the Zambian national anthem in a small mud hut in the Amazon rain forest.

I was a teacher in a former life. That trip was brave. I love the bit about the rainforest experience. I’ve never done that either. You have an unbelievable imagination.:D — Suzanne

Of course, as kids we didn’t give a thought to the poor teachers while we were busy ignoring their instructions!

When I was in grade school, I did baby-sitting my little brother most of time, although it wasn’t my favorite thing to do, I had no choice.

I’m sure he appreciates it now, though.

You know, of all the beasts I have on my shelf, I don’t think there’s a single dog. Now I wonder if they make dogicorns…?

And I have never “… chainsawed my own arm off for a drunken dare while singing the Zambian national anthem in a small mud hut in the Amazon rain forest.” To be fair, I don’t think many of us have done that, even when seriously inebriated 🙂

C’mon, I’ll go if you go to that party….
OK, maybe I won’t.
How far is London from Cornwall? With the exception of the Senior Trip to Disneyworld (12 hours by chartered bus), all of our field trips were within 2 hours of home.

It’s about 270 miles. Google reckons you can do it in around 4 and a half hours (without traffic). Ha ha ha. More like 6. It was a whole weekend trip!

A whole weekend with a large group of 12-year-olds…. That is a terrifying thought!
I’ve done some stupid things while under the influence but nothing nearly as stupid as chainsawing off my own arm on a drunken dare!

We had fun, never a thought to the poor teachers 🙂
Occasionally there’s a news story about someone (usually in Eastern Europe) who has done something like this…

While I’m sorry to hear that anyone is stupid enough to saw off their arm for no good reason, it is good to know that it isn’t just Americans who do stupid things!

Your two ‘lads’ are adorable and, I imagine, never wake you in the middle of the night by barking at a passing hedgehog or suchlike. And I totally agree with you about the party. I’d steer well clear of that one, too. As for your last answer, I seriously hope you aren’t considering trying it! 🙂

No, the lads are very quiet and well-behaved 🙂
I think I’ll give the chainsaw thing a miss…
