Sharing My World 2016 Week 49

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

What do you value most in a friendship?
Ooh, really huge expensive birthday presents. Wait, reading that back to myself, it sounds a bit mercenary. Someone who listens and doesn’t judge. There you go, that’s better.

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first?  Do you prefer a specific flavour?
I eat both at the same time. They’re designed to complement each other, and they do! Any flavour is good for me.

Have you ever been in a submarine?  If you haven’t, would you want to?
I seem to remember going in one a long time ago. It was one of those decommissioned ones from years ago for people to walk around, so it didn’t have any atomic torpedoes or anything on it. It was also on the water rather than under it. I quite like enclosed spaces, but I’m not so sure I would like being under all that water as well.

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?
Oh, golly gosh, cor blimey and whatnot, what a question! Sounds like something you’d be asked in a psych evaluation. I’m going to play it safe and say 50.

That last question ….. hmmm very deep thoughts.
One must be self confident to answer truthfully.

Yeah, I really didn’t think I could give a proper answer to that.

I was on a decommmissioned WWII ship tied up at a dock once. As I remember, it was an aircraft carrier like my brother was stationed on. We could walk through. I was amazed what places there were that made it like a village. There was even a post office. Good answers, Ali. 🙂 — Suzanne

I imagine something as big as an aircraft carrier would be a little self-contained town.

Good thing there’d be no chance of that decommissioned sub suddenly lowering itself all the way to the bottom of the ocean while there were visitors aboard it. That could never happen…. right?

No chance at all. It’s all perfectly safe!

Cor blimey seems a very reasonable response to that last question.

Now I want cake and frosting. Mmmm.

If the question had been “live a more EXCITING life” … I’d have to have said “almost everybody.” But more satisfying? Maybe AS satisfied, but not more. I’ll have to remember you like icing in case we ever share cupcakes 🙂

Yes, “exciting” I could have done, but “satisfied”? Hard to tell.
Not too much icing, though – just enough in relation to cupcake size 🙂

I totally agree that the cake and icing are meant to be eaten together – they really do complement each other. It’s amazing how many kiddies eat the icing and leave the cake!
I like your second answer to the friendship question. That’s really nice. 🙂

Funny . . . you could also say, “I’ll let you know when 100 of those said people have lived my life”! Indeed, that’s a tough one to answer, and with a straight face. Kudos on the cupcake question: one without the other is almost sacrilege! Happy Tuesday, Ali. 🙂

Yeah, I remember that question from a couple of years ago – nasty one to answer!
Mmm, cupcakes 🙂 Maybe I’ll bake some for Christmas…

“Taking some time to check on me” is what I most value in friendship.

That’s always nice, when someone notices you’re down and check up on you.
