FF – Debris

Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo was contributed by Ted Strutz.

Warning – this week’s story may be a tad “spicy”, but it’s the first thing that leapt into my mind 😮 and now I can’t think of anything else.

“What do we have, Constable?”

“An explosion, Sarge. No casualties, thank god, but there’s wreckage blown everywhere.”

“Right then, let’s have a look. What’s this thing?”

“No idea, Sarge. Maybe… this bit would go here, and… urgh, no!”

“Hmm, I reckon maybe you put this part around here, and then this bit would go… no, no, no!”

“I think maybe… maybe we’re better off not knowing, Sarge.”

“I think you’re right, Constable. Bag it all up!”

“Right you are, Sarge. I really don’t understand why anyone would want to blow up ‘Helga’s House of Pain’ anyway…”

    That made me smile

  2. August 11, 2021 at 4:55 pm

    LOL! Customer service gone wrong?

  3. August 11, 2021 at 5:09 pm

Lots of questions there. Intriguing well done.

  4. August 11, 2021 at 5:20 pm

Helga must not have given enough pain to one of her customers…

  5. August 11, 2021 at 6:16 pm

They’re right, they’re probably better off not knowing. What a fun story, no casualties, and a lot of disappointed customers once they read the news.

Hopefully Helga has an emergency backup dungeon she can use while her primary location is being rebuilt 🙂

Well, we know where the Sarge and the Constable have been on their days off 😮

    • August 12, 2021 at 6:53 am

They did seem on a bit of a downer that the place has been flattened 🙂

Yeah sure. They just want to make it appear they aren’t really familiar with that type of “machinery”…

    • August 13, 2021 at 6:57 am

They covered quite well but there’s no fooling you…

  9. August 12, 2021 at 11:29 am

It’ll be a great loss, Millie’s Massage Parlour just ain’t the same!

    • August 13, 2021 at 6:58 am

Millie just doesn’t “get it” 😦

  10. August 12, 2021 at 2:25 pm

    That was great fun!

  11. August 12, 2021 at 3:59 pm

Your last line was an authentic and smirk-inducing surprise. Well done!

    • August 13, 2021 at 7:00 am

Thanks, I’m glad you liked it!

  12. August 12, 2021 at 7:02 pm

I kept waiting for the spicy part, and then I saw Helga’s House of Pain and laughed out loud 🙂

    • August 13, 2021 at 7:02 am

I’m glad I was able to make you laugh 🙂

  13. August 12, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Well Helga likes pain, I suppose, and blowing up would be painful. Love the story.

  14. August 12, 2021 at 11:41 pm

Smiled my way through it. Thanks.

    • August 13, 2021 at 7:06 am

      I’m glad I gave you a smile 🙂

Wonder how long the “evidence” will remain in the police storage?
Could be a lucrative business in repairing such devices? Might take less than an explosion to make some of those “toys” go wonky.
Thanks for the smile. Now, I can’t get that image out of my mind, lol.

    • August 13, 2021 at 7:17 am

Yes, it was probably already damaged even before the blast! I expect it will be signed out of evidence for “further inspection” a few times 🙂

  16. August 13, 2021 at 11:31 am

    Dear Ali,

Perhaps someone experienced more pain than they cared to endure. 😉

    • August 13, 2021 at 3:05 pm

      Dear Rochelle,
That’s what happens when you forget your safe word… 😉

  17. August 13, 2021 at 12:17 pm

Funny and agony of it all.

  18. August 15, 2021 at 5:22 pm

    Hope Helga had insurance!

  19. August 15, 2021 at 7:40 pm

Love the story , especially the conversation between the two cops. The last line is a hoot.

    • August 16, 2021 at 5:08 am

I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s an interesting case for the two of them 🙂

  20. August 16, 2021 at 11:12 pm

It seems someone wanted to repay the favor tenfold. Or was it a jealous wife?

    • August 17, 2021 at 5:04 am

Or a jealous husband. Helga is an equal-opportunities dominatrix.

Well, that was disappointing, what Helga was thinking.
