FF – Twisted

Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo was contributed by Brenda Cox.

It could happen anywhere. At any time. To anyone.

It had started two years ago. The folding of the fabric of reality. Nobody really understood it, not even the scientists, though everyone unanimously agreed that “something had gone wrong somewhere”.

Look at that poor cyclist. Riding along, minding their own business and suddenly they’re at one with the wall. What a way to go.

It’s not always fatal. One time, a prominent politician got so reconfigured he ended up literally talking out of his ass.

No-one noticed for a month.

The world’s always been a bit twisted though, I guess.

That would be a strange reality indeed. And I can’t stop laughing thinking about that talking out of the ass part 😂😂😂

A very strange and scary reality 😮
      I’m glad you enjoyed it!

LOL! Just an ordinary day for the politician. 😀 (I feel bad for the cyclist.)

    • August 26, 2021 at 6:45 am

It’s not going to be easy to identify the poor cyclist, I fear 😦
It’s good that these happenings don’t ruin everyone’s careers, though 🙂

    Loved the poltician

    “No-one noticed for a month.” That’s perfect.

  5. August 25, 2021 at 6:14 pm

LOL. This “folding of the fabric of reality” thingy explains so much! But did it really start just two years ago as far as politicians are concerned? Aargh.

    • August 26, 2021 at 8:15 am

Maybe there was a critical mass of politicians somewhere which caused the whole thing 😮

Politicians. Don’t you just love em!

  7. August 25, 2021 at 6:39 pm

This photo prompt was more challenging than most, imo. You did justice to it.

  8. August 25, 2021 at 8:34 pm

Nobody noticed the ass talking because of the horrible toupee…

    • August 26, 2021 at 9:11 am

Then one day a squirrel nicked it mid-rant and the truth was made known…

  9. August 25, 2021 at 9:11 pm

I don’t think anybody would notice the politician!

  10. August 26, 2021 at 6:09 am

He’s the perfect candidate to run for president of the united states . . .

  11. August 26, 2021 at 1:29 pm

    Haha! Love it! Well done!

  12. August 26, 2021 at 1:53 pm

I’ve pondered long and hard regarding what I would like to be at one with. Perhaps a Labrador, or maybe a Harley-Davidson!

  13. August 26, 2021 at 3:12 pm

Great take Ali, way to go!

  14. August 26, 2021 at 4:38 pm

Oh. You described the reality I live in. We have elections in a month… a lot of ass-talking going on.

  15. August 26, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Humour with a dark tinge. I wonder about the relationship between the politicians and the folding fabric of space-time.

    • August 27, 2021 at 7:21 am

I reckon a critical mass of politicians, lawyers and the like may have caused it.

  16. August 26, 2021 at 9:34 pm

    Dear Ali,

Isn’t that how all politicians are configured? Love your take.

    • August 27, 2021 at 7:22 am

      Dear Rochelle,
Yep, pretty much. I’m glad you liked it!

    Very nice

  18. August 30, 2021 at 8:49 am

Funny take again, Draliman. I think it might take longer than a month to realise a politician was actually talking through his arse, though.

  19. August 30, 2021 at 9:58 am

Inventive story Ali. Loved the politician talking through his arse and no-one noticed bit made me laugh.

    • September 1, 2021 at 5:34 am

This could be happening right now, it feels like it sometimes!

    I’m so glad I don’t ride a bike. As for the politician… 🙄

    • September 2, 2021 at 4:19 pm

I’m sure not all cyclists end up trapped in a wall 🙂
