Sharing My World 06-12-2021
Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.
What really turns your stomach? (politicians aside)
It takes a lot to turn my stomach. You’d be surprised at some of the gory stuff I happily watch while I’m munching away at my tea.
The behaviour and evil deeds of some people, that would do it.
What would YOU do with the immense amount of ‘garbage’ in the world, if there weren’t dumps or barges (Sorry New York/New Jersey) where it was taken to be processed?
Fire it into the sun. Nature’s incinerator!
What’s the oddest container you’ve ever gotten a gift in?
I can’t think of any odd containers used for gifts. I tend to get stuff in the original box wrapped in paper.
Do people behave differently during Christmas?
Everyone seems to be jollier. And less willing to do any actual real work. We used to get the afternoon of Christmas Eve off work. Now we get the whole day as the bosses realised no-one was actually doing anything in the morning.

Christmas Eve is my favorite anymore. With the kids grown and family hours away, Christmas Eve is when I visit and socialize (well it used to be before COVID). I’m working this Christmas Eve but it is still too scary out there for me to visit an all closed up house full of people, so I do not feel I am missing anything. Maybe next year. Fingers crossed.

Yes, we’re being careful this year, not going to any larger family gatherings.

Glad you have Christmas Eve off, Ali. More bosses ought to wise up, maybe buy some goodwill for a change! 🎄🎄❤️💚

I think they gave up rather than wised up 🙂

What do people “munch” with tea? A question from a hillybully in the Appalachian Mountains.

“Tea” as in “dinner” or “supper” (depending on where you live). “Dinner” can also be “lunch” and “supper” can also be later in the evening, so most people stick with “tea” 🙂

If our bosses gave people the day off because nobody was doing any real work, they’d have to permanently close the store down…

All the murder mysteries I watch have not affected my eating at all. I’m beginning to wonder why. 😀

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World! I think there’s a sort of unwritten ‘rule’ that the day before the 25th of December is a ‘free’ day even if one has to work. Wandering around drinking egg nog (without the additives unless one’s boss is real laid back), nibbling the left over Christmas cookies and treats, gossiping, telling jokes to co-workers or just chatting are all that is going to be accomplished. So why not let the employees just do all that at their own homes? E.S. is the author of the ‘weird container” question, and I misunderstood his intent. So on the last SYW before Christmas, I’ll ask the actual question instead. I like the idea of sending all the trash on a trajectory to the sun. No fuss, no mess, it will only take how many years for even one load to make it there? Great solution though! 🙂 Have a great week!

The only problem with the “sun” idea is if the launch fails halfway into orbit and tonnes of rubbish ends up falling all over the country 😮
