Sharing My World 2017 Week 31
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World series.

List some of your favourite types of teas.
I only really drink fruity tea. And that’s really a “fruit infusion” rather than actual tea. I would drink tea on occasion but I don’t drink milk so it would be with lots of lemon juice, in the continental style.
If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?
No honking, please, I have one of my heads.

What are a couple of things people could do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?
Leave me alone, please.
Regardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: if you could be an athlete what would you do?
I think I’d be a long distance runner. It would be cool to just run and run without a care in the world, getting away from it all and keeping fit at the same time ๐

What is your favourite cheese?
Mmm, cheese. Hard cheese, soft cheese, white cheese, blue cheese, cheese with stuff in, cheese without stuff in, stuff with cheese in, stuff with cheese on, cheese with holes, cheese without holes, I Buy Any Cheese dot com.
I’m quite fond of cheese.
Are you left or right handed?
Right. My left hand often asks if it can do more, but to be honest it’s not really up to the job. Just concentrate on changing gears, leave the business of steering to the right hand, I say. Let’s not end up in a hedge.
Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?
Neither. I’m too lazy to exercise my body and I do complicated stuff all day at work. The last thing I want to do after a long day at work is brain-teasers and challenging books.
Complete this sentence: Hot days are…
Few and far between ๐ฆ

How do you like to spend a rainy day?
Well, we get plenty of those. It’s TV, reading and PS4! To be fair, that sounds like a non-rainy day too.
List at least five favourite treats. (They do not have to be sugary).
Chocolate bars. I get addicted so I hardly ever eat them. Black Forest Gateau. A new video game. Plus two other treats I can’t think of right now because it’s quite early still.
Whereโs your favourite place to take out-of-town guests?
I don’t have out of town guests. Or any guests. But fortunately since this is Cornwall they can go anywhere and it’s all very nice. Godrevy, Tintagel and Trelissick would be good starts.
You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?
Firstly it’s highly unlikely that I would be in a lift in the first place. If I were, I would want to be trapped with someone who doesn’t have any gung-ho ideas about fiddling with the controls or opening the escape hatch in the roof (which only exists in films anyway), as both of those actions would likely get me killed.

For your main meal do you prefer sweet and sour, hot and spicy, spicy and sweet, bitter, salty, bland or other?
Hot and spicy, spicy and hot, with much hotness and spiciness. If I’m not left crawling around on the floor gasping for breath, it wasn’t hot enough.

Where do you hide junk when people come over?
In my bedroom. Just chuck it all on the chair. The last time I did that was months ago and it’s still there, so it makes me wonder if I really needed to keep any of it in the first place.
What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?
Like many others I’ve read, some exercise. I just need to get up a bit earlier and have a walk around the village before getting ready for work.
If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?ย
Perform in the circus? Yeeks! What a thought. I suppose being the Ring Master would be the least of all the evils. And not nearly so dangerous as most of the other acts.

What goal are you working on now? Your goal can be something fun or extremely serious. Have fun with this question.
Currently I’m trying to get hold of a Trampler heart so that I can trade it for a Shadow War Bow. This will allow me to shoot corruption arrows at people! Here is a picture.

As you can see, it’s likely to kill me quite a lot. I’ve spotted packs of them but I need to find one on its own.
What is one thing youโre glad you tried but would never do again?
I can’t think of anything. Everything I’ve done has made me who I am. For better ๐ or worse ๐ฆ
Did you choose your profession or did it choose you?
I chose to apply and they chose to hire me ๐ It’s something I always wanted to do.
Have you ever gotten lost?
Yes, despite careful planning! Here are the hundreds of miles I once drove while trying to find the local tip. The “trails” are detailed here.

What is something that people are obsessed with but you just donโt get the point of?
Well, there are things I’m really into and I can’t understand how other people don’t get the point. So I try not to judge. Everybody’s different and everyone likes different things.
After all, who wouldn’t want to spend 6 hours of a Sunday afternoon disembowelling Orcs and such?
What quirky things do people do where you are from?
I haven’t really noticed anyone doing anything quirky. Probably because I do the same quirky things so they seem normal ๐ Fresh eyes would be required.
What are some things you wish you could unlearn?ย
I can’t really think of anything. If I took the trouble to learn them in the first place there must have been a reason. And it’s not like my brain is full and I need to make room…
Who is someone that you miss having in your life?
Hmm. People come and people go. It would be nice to spend some more time with my Gran, who passed away 17 years ago or so. She was such a kind person.
Did you notice how I pretty much didn’t actually answer any of the questions? Does that count as a “quirky thing?”

What do you do when youโre not working? If you are retired, what do you that is not part of your regular daytime routine?
I do a lot of sleeping when I’m not working ๐ I also read, watch the Netflix and play games on my PlayStation. Sometimes I go to the cinema too.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
Obviously I “wouldn’t let it change me”. I’d remain easy-going and a friend to all people and small furry animals, and would still lead a quiet, unassuming life.
Then I would have my driver take me down the high street in my gold-plated open-top Rolls Royce so I can throw bags of money behind me and watch all the poor persons scrabble around in the dirt for it bwahahaha.
What makes you laugh the most?
Watching poor persons scrabble around in the dirt for the money I’ve just chucked out the back of my gold-plated open-top Rolls Royce bwahahaha.
And funny TV programmes.
What is your biggest pet peeve with modern technology?
Battery life annoys me. The list of stuff I have to recharge is practically endless. Toothbrush, shaver, phone, laptop, Kindle, PlayStation controllers, watch… yikes!

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

Whatโs your strongest sense?
My sense of danger. Any perceived threat and I’m gone. Like spiders and such. Nasty creepy things.
Which of Snow Whiteโs 7 dwarfs describes you best? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey)
The last time this question came up I invented a new one and called him Asshole.
So the original name of the Seven Dwarfs were Blick, Flick, Glick etc etc (1912 Broadway play). Eventually Disney came along and gave them the more well-known names, but in the original 1812 Grimm brothers’ story, theyย had no names at all!
That’s right, Wilhelm and Jacob didn’t bother naming the little guys. So as for our question, I’m going to be “Unnamed Dwarf Number Three”.
If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?
Thirty-five. No, twenty. Or forty-six. No, wait, twelve. A hundred and two. I don’t know. Three.
List of Jobs You Think You Might Enjoy: Even if you arenโt thinking about a career change, it can be fun to think of other jobs you might enjoy. [Remember: This is SYW where even your dreams can become reality.]
Well, if it could be anything at all…
- Fighter pilot (but just for the zooming around, not for shooting anyone down)
- International Man of Mystery
- Jedi Knight (but not one of the ones who was shot in the back by the treacherous Clone Army)
- Space Explorer
- President Supreme of the Galactic Empire of Draliman

What is the most famous landmark or building you have ever seen?
I guess it would be some of the London landmarks. The tower with Big Ben in, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and the like. It was many years ago, though, pre-camera phones and digital cameras and I don’t have any photos.
Do you like long vacation or lots of mini-vacations?
I prefer little holidays here and there. I have two weeks off coming up but I’ll just take one day as it comes and have little days out.
What is your favourite National or State Park?
We don’t really have state parks (not least because we don’t have states). We do have areas owned by English Heritage (a charity), The National Trust/The National Trust of Scotland (a charity) and The Forestry Commission (which would be the closest to America’s “National Parks” I guess).
Area-wise, North Wales, North and especially North-East Scotland and Cumbria are lovely. Also Dartmoor in Devon and, of course, Cornwall ๐
Here’s a photo I took a couple of years ago in Dartmoor.

And here’s North Wales.

What is your fantasy vacation?
Have I mentioned before visiting the Hobbits in New Zealand? And there’s lots more to see there too!
Sharing My World 2017 Week 22
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World series.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?ย
Can anyone guess? That’s right. Go to Middle Zealand to see the Hobbits. There’s lots to see there too, with the two main islands and whatnot. I’d just need to be sure not to wander too close to Mordor while I’m there. It’s a 25 hour flight, thought, ‘cos it’s like a hundred thousand miles away or something.
How often do you get a haircut?
I get my hair cut every 4 weeks. Otherwise it kind of “fluffs out” from my head. It also tickles my ears ๐
In regards to puzzle whatโs your choice: jigsaw, crossword, word search or numeric puzzles?
Jigsaw, I think, followed by word search. I can’t do crosswords because I don’t know anything, and numeric puzzles make me feel ill ๐ฆ
How many cities have you lived in? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.
If we’re talking actual “cities”, threeย I think. There is a handy list of cities I can refer to in the UK, fortunately, ranging from the biggies like Birmingham down to the tiniest like London. Towns are “promoted” to cities via royal charter. I don’t know what makes a city a city in the other countries I’ve lived in.
Guildford (Surrey) is a town. I’ll call Cobh (Ireland) a town as well. Welwyn Garden City (Hertfordshire) is actually a town, though it seems to be masquerading as a city. Nice try, Welwyn Garden City. Redruth (Cornwall) is a town.
Truro (Cornwall) is a city and so is Cork (Ireland) probably. I’ll call Stuttgart (Germany) a city.
Liss (Hampshire) is a village I suppose, as are Grampound Road and Carnon Downs (both Cornwall).
So that’s three cities, four towns and three villages. I think that’s all of them ๐
