Sharing My World 2017 Week 11

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
I don’t use lifts as a rule. In Cornwall we don’t have any buildings high enough that I can’t take the stairs. I don’t like to be squished into a little metal box with lots of other people.

However, if I do need to take the lift I push the button once. Pushing the button more than once will have one of the following effects:

  • No effect (most likely)
  • Slow it down slightly as it processes the extra button push(es). This can also happen if you keep pushing a link on a website if nothing seems to be happening – all you’re doing is asking the server to process more and more.
  • Break it

Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous (for example if you are visiting a big city you don’t know?)
If I was driving there I’d check out the route and parking. If I was staying there I’d book in advance. Apart from that I’d check out what there is to see there and then just play it by ear. The worst thing I could do is make an itinerary as I’d panic if it didn’t go absolutely to plan.

Describe yourself in at least four uplifting words.
I can’t think of anything. I don’t really do “uplifting” 😦

If you had a choice which would be your preference salt water beaches, fresh water lakes, ocean cruise, hot tub, ski resort or desert?
Beaches are okay.

Bedruthan2

But I prefer lakes.

Horses at Colliford Lake

Horsies

I would like to visit a desert once day but there isn’t one for thousands of miles.

Good answers, Ali. Your answer about the lift button was written by a person who truly understands computers. A lot of people probably don’t have that information. 🙂 — Suzanne

I have the advantage of a little insight of what’s going on behind the scenes 🙂

You definitely don’t want to break the lift, because then everyone will have to take the stairs and you won’t get any peace and quiet there anymore….

That’s very true. I can’t be having other persons invading my personal stairs.

The desert is hot. Dessert is much better. 🙂

I like an itinerary..or more an outline…gotta have wiggle room, you know 😉

A basic idea is fine, just nothing that says “lunch at 1200, such and such a museum at 1415…” 🙂

I want a desert next to a beach with palms. By the edge of a mountain. With 75 degree temperatures with 1 hours of rain at lunch and perhaps one more around 3 in the morning.

I really like the open expanses – not so much all sand but those great deserts you see in the US. I’m not good when it’s too hot, though!

There must be lifts in Cornwall somewhere, but your answer to that one is spot on.

The only lifts I see really are in multistory car parks in Truro and they just look dangerous, to be honest 🙂
Thanks for the four lovely uplifting words!

I don’t like lifts, either, and would much prefer to walk up many stairs instead (at least, I would have done before my knees decided to give up the ghost). Your beach photo is beautiful and so is the one of the lake – especially the horsies! I’ve seen the Sahara and can say that deserts are not my thing. Not a drop of water in sight.

I quite the idea of the sort of desert they have in America, with the mountains and cactuseseses and whatnot 🙂 Not so keen on miles and miles of just sand.
