Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
If you could choose any person from history to be your imaginary friend, who would it be and why?
Oh boy, there have been so many people in the whole of history, how can I choose? Ooh, I know. I’ll have famous Austrian psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. Because if I have an imaginary friend at my age I probably need help. And this will present an interesting moral dilemma for Freud – if he is successful in his treatment, he will effectively cease to exist.
What will you do, Sigmund. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
60s, 70s, 80s, 90s: Which decade do you love the most and why?
I think the 70s. Playing outside, hot summers, not a care in the world. Kids always want to grow up so they’re their own boss and can do whatever they want, little realising that you’re never more free than you are in those early years…
When you die, what do you want to be remembered for?
Die? I’m not planning on doing that. But if my immortality master plan doesn’t pan out, I’d rather not be remembered. Most people who are remembered throughout history did something pretty nasty. Sometimes it’s something good, but I’m sure history usually gets it a bit wrong and I wouldn’t be around to fix it.

You young people. Fewer can consider the 40’s or 50’s anymore. By the 60’s I was grown up and that wasn’t as much fun. Come to think of it, it was a heck of a sight better than the 2010’s as I’m old now. Take my advice and never wish to live until you’re 100. 😀 — Suzanne

Someone from history would be a really hard pick —but Sigmund Freud, of all people! Do you think he knew how to be a friend, or would he be constantly analyzing everything you said? Especially your jokes 😉
Sorry to correct you, Ali, but those hot summers of playing outside, not a care in the world, etc, were in the early 60s.
These are interesting questions. Maybe I should sign up and do Cee’s Share Your World, too. I’ve always been hesitant in case no one cares to hear my world — especially my imaginary friends. 🙂

I’m glad summers in the 60 were the same as in the 70s. I wonder how kids of the 80s and 90s felt about their childhoods? Those were also “pre-tech”.

My children enjoyed the 80’s and 90’s. They had real
childhoods as it was “pre-tech” and they actually got out and enjoyed being with their friends. 🙂 — Suzanne

Alright class, turn your history books to Page 420 and today we’ll learn about Draliman the Deranged… an infamous 21st Century blogger who once wished Dr. Sigmund Freud out of existence. It was also believed he liked to talk to evil squirrels…

I’d have to go with the 90s. Best decade ever 😀 It’s been wild to see a lot of the stuff that was popular when I was a kid become popular now.

Hopefully Sigmund will be able to help on the not wanting to die thing too. After all, it is the only certainty in life.
A pity kids don’t have the wisdom to make the best of all that free time with no responsibilities. We really do have life a bit cock-eyed, because it’s only as adults you realise the value of education too.
