FF – Neat and Tidy

Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo was contributed by Dale Rogerson.

“There we go. Ta-da!”

“Hmm, very neat and tidy. Not very safe-looking, though. Propped up like that.”

“Rubbish, it’s fine.”

“Look, your mum’s at the window.”

Creeeeak

“Boys, you’ve been working very hard! Do you fancy a snack? I can whip up…”

CRAAAAASH! Aaaargh!

“Oh, God, nooooooo! Why, God, whyyyyyy? Now we’re gonna have to make our own snacks.”

“Well, shit.”

“Bollocks to that. Pub?”

“Yep. I’m sure she’ll be fine.”

Grooooan…

When they get back she’ll probably be sitting there all bandaged up with snacks made 😦

Oh dear… What would we do without pubs to run off to?

A lot of people don’t know of the safety of pubs. Well done humor.

Eh, Mum should expect this kind of treatment since the kids keep her locked up in the basement…

I wonder–did Mum bring this on herself by rearing a total bum? “I’m sure she’ll be fine.” Not bothering to check on her, no sense of needing to help her? Sheesh.

I suppose they’d have to go back home and help Mum out from under the wood pile… 🙂

I suspect they mean’t well but stacking logs needs more practice. less time in the pub and more time building logs, I say. Poor Mum.

It was a sloppy job right from the start. I suspect they were too eager to get to the pub.

    Dear Ali

Mum’s crushed. Let’s go to the pub. I hope she wrote him out of the will.

      Dear Rochelle,
I’ve decided she’s going to make a full recovery so that’s the first thing she’ll be doing once the bandages come off 🙂

Funny!!! A pub drink can help them gather the strength to face mom, if she survived.

Laugh, splutter! Those boy-o’s sure have their priorities straight! But those logs really don’t look that well-balanced.

No, opening the window was the final straw for the logs. I expect they’ll be back later to rescue Mum and tidy up:-)

You’re right – those logs look very precarious. A classic Ali story, with your trademark heartless humour!
