Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Children aside, do you celebrate your birthday/anniversary or is it just a normal day for you?
We always get together as a family and have a takeaway, fish and chips or a Chinese, something like that.
Do/did you always give your child a birthday party when they were young?
Child? Child? Oh, man. I knew I shouldn’t have used that out of date condom…
If your child was born on Christmas Day (or a few days either side of the 25th), did they have a ‘half birthday’ in June, two presents/celebrations, or something else?
I don’t know when they were born! I only just found out in the last question I even had one! Where’s my calendar…
On a related note, when my brother and I were young we always had an “un-birthday present” on each other’s birthday.
Would you prefer to give your child a party, or take them and a few friends on a special outing?
I’ve never really thought about it. UNTIL NOW 😮

Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Do you feel comfortable walking in your neighbourhood at night?
Yes, it’s a tiny little village and according to crime stats we get a couple of “anti social behaviour” arrests per month, plus occasionally someone sets a bin on fire. So not exactly a hub of gang activity or anything.
When you shop for day to day things, do you pay by cash or card?
I pay by card except at the monthly village market, where it’s pretty much cash-only, though one or two vendors sometimes have a portable card machine. Fortunately there’s a Post Office in the village where I can get cash out.
When was the last time you dressed up for a special occasion?
Last October, for my Dad’s funeral.
Have you ever lied about your age?
No, not that I recall.
Backwards Day! – COW 2023
Here is my entry for Evil Squirrel’s Contest Of Whatever 2023! The theme this year is (drum roll) “November 31st”!
I couldn’t bring any of my initial duff ideas to fruition so I fell back on writing a poem. Yes, a poem!
I know, right?
A warning to anyone who doesn’t read Evil Squirrel’s Nest (and if not, why not?) – this is very specific to the critters who infest the Nest. But you can always critique me on my dodgy rhyming and shitty scanning.
A poem for COW 2023
A quite tricky day, that none can remember,
Today is quite odd, 31st of November!
Here come the critters, but everything’s changed,
They’re all topsy-turvey, psyches rearranged.
First up is Mitzi, they say quite a bimbo,
But here she comes trotting, her hooves NOT akimbo!
Next up is Zeeba, but wait – is this real?
No blood can I see, she’s become quite gentile!
And here is the Pres, he’s arrogant, the Boss,
But look here today, he’s quite at a loss!
It’s just past 4:20 and now here comes Fuzzy,
He’s not stoned at all, his head clear, not muzzy!
And Snuggle and Big Scrat, they do love to hate,
But just for today they’ve become best of mates!
And finally Buster, a tear in his eye,
He’s made it right through, and hasn’t yet died!
I’ll leave you now reader, doubtless wanting more,
Because very soon all will be as before,
The critters will be back, but just as they were,
That is, until next we see 31 November.
