Sharing My World Week 41
Cee has posed another set of questions to Share My World with, so here goes! Thanks for hosting the challenge, Cee.
Would you rather take pictures or be in pictures?
I would definitely prefer to take the pictures. Sets of photos from work Christmas parties are all full of my hand in front of my face, a hastily turned head or a blur off to the side as I make my escape.
I prefer taking photos of scenery rather than people, because I always worry that I’m making the people feel as uncomfortable as I feel when someone’s taking a photo of me.
What did you most enjoy doing this past week?
I guess maybe going for a drive in my new car. See the next question!
It’s got a lot of zip. It’s my mid-life crisis car. I expect next time I’ll get a car more suitable for my age π
What is your greatest extravagance?
My car, probably. I’m one of those people who enjoys driving, and since I’m commuting nearly 40 miles a day, I want to do it in a decent car. I only had my last car for 19 months, but Ford offered me loads of money off a new car, so for very little extra a month I got an upgrade!
I took some pictures this morning. It’s still dark so I couldn’t really see what I was aiming at.
I tell you what, anyone who says that heated seats are an unnecessary luxury (me a couple of weeks ago) has never tried them!
If anyone’s interested, it’s a Ford Fiesta ST-3 (in America that’s a Fiesta ST with most of the optional extras added).
Which letter of the alphabet describes you best?
Huh, what?
Maybe “S” or “Z” because I keep changing my mind about things, and those letters weave about from side to side.
See you again next week!

I too prefer pictures of scenery vs people. Not so much for the uncomfortable thing, but moe because when I see pictures it is what I prefer to see.

I like pictures of people for memories, like people I was at university with, but by and large I do like to see pictures of scenery better.

Good point on pictures of scenes vs people. I guess I’ve always done that without realizing since I hate cameras too.
I usually am not a Ford fan, but the car looks really nice! Love the blue! Now, is it a 6-speed or am I seeing two 5th gears?

It’s 6 speed π It took a little while to get used to but I’ve got the hang of it now, pretty much. It is a nice colour!

Nothing like a brand new car. ~sigh

darn think I hit the wrong key π As I was saying…there’s nothing like a brand new car…mine has just turned 15. Never had any major problems and only three sets of new tyres in that time.

That’s really good! Most cars have had quite a bit of work by then, and way more tyres.
A new car is nice, but it would be good to hang on to it for a bit longer and actually own all of it π

Ali, That looks like a lovely car. That color is a beautiful blue. Heated seats are great. I could have used those when I was driving in northeast Ohio. We were close to Canada and it really got cold.
The older I get the less I like to be in photos for the obvious reasons. My daughter took the lastest ones of us when she was here. I don’t even own a camera these days. I enjoy other peoples photos, especially of beautiful scenery. π — Susan

I’m quite looking forward to winter so the heated seats really come into their own π
I haven’t read of anyone yet who actually likes being in photos!

Sorry for the typo. That word was supposed to be “latest” not “lastest” in the last paragraph. I write better English than that. π

It looked strange to see the driver’s side on the right side of the car π Have fun with your new baby. Thanks for playing.

I don’t know how I’d cope with a left-hand drive. I’d have to change gear with my right hand and I don’t like taking that off the steering wheel!

Heated seats are GREAT. I had them on an Acura I owned. Heated leather makes winter almost bearable. NICE wheels. Have fun!

It’s costing me a fortune in petrol – I keep going out for drives, or going home the “long way” π

BTW, congrats on your new speed machine. Driving a fast car with loud music on a open road is one of life’s finest pleasures.

That’s one sweet mid-life crisis car – that description made me laugh!! Seriously nice though, looks like it would be a joy to drive and I adore the color!
Also “S” or a “Z” is an awesome representation for a changing mind – creative!!

Your mid-life crisis car was hilarious! I don’t have such wonderful excuses when I want to get a new TV, I have to invent some day of my name II or something!

When I wanted a new TV I kept hanging around hoping my current TV would break but it didn’t. So I just had to buy one, no excuses π

Hooray for spiffy new cars! I love the shade of blue on it too!
I have a running joke with one of my other online friends about heated seats in cars… like you, she believes they are a necessity. All I need is the handy dandy little heater in my Neon, which once warmed up is approximately the temperature of the surface of the sun. Ahhhhhh….

The cool(!) thing about heated seats is you can switch them on without telling your passenger and then they think they’ve wet themselves as the heat suddenly expands beneath them π
