FF – Evidence
Here is my post for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. It’s another summer rerun so I’m rerunning my original story (with a couple of tiny twiddles), as I had a read earlier and quite liked it. It’s from January 2015. Dee Lovering requested this rerun and the photo was submitted by Georgia Koch.

Franco’s friends (if it could be said that he had friends) were astonished when he joined “Save Our Barges”. An ex-mobster, charity was never his thing.
He chatted to the great and good, raised funds and worked tirelessly until at last he made it onto the charity’s board… until at last he was granted access to the Betty May.
The charity’s latest restoration project, the Betty May was locked away in dry dock, awaiting much-needed love and a tender touch.
That night the Betty May burnt down to ash. Some of Franco’s secrets were best left buried.
Limerick Challenge – Future
Here is my contribution to Mind and Life Matters’ Limerick Poetry Challenge, which this week features the word “future”.

If I could become future me
Just think of the wonders I’d see!
(Though I’d be very old
I could die from a cold)
So maybe I’ll just leave it be.
FF – Bye Bye Bees
Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. It’s another rerun but for a few months before my day. It was requested by C. E. Ayr and the photo was contributed by Janet Webb.
It’s a picture of a wasps’ nest, but my story is about bees because it’s more topical :-).

Gathering their forces, the Bees of Wisdom entered their honeycomb Spaceship of Life. The Bee of Wayfinding locked in the course and buzzed his readiness to the Queen. The Bee of Tools and Construction reported “status green”.
The Queen gave the command, the Bee of Power Deliverance engaged the thrusters and the Spaceship of Life lifted off and headed for worlds unknown.
The Bees inside looked sadly down at their former home, ravaged and destroyed by the two-legged mammals – once a beautiful blue marble hanging in space, now a toxic grey-green, no longer fit for Man nor Bee.
FF – Everything Changes
Here is my post for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This one is a rerun from March 2014 with a photo supplied by Adam Ickes, requested by Sandra Crook. I was going to write a new story but I quite like the story I wrote last time so I’ll repost it (with a few changes).

Taking a deep breath, Shelley gathered her courage and approached the little wooden bridge. The new varnish gleamed – she couldn’t even tell that it had been damaged.
Edging forward she looked into the gulley, a run-off for melting winter snow. A tear stung her eye as she cast her mind back to the week before when everything was all right, everything was normal – the buzzing of the little dirt bike, the laughter of her brother, his excitement as he tore onto the bridge.
A tiny miscalculation, and everything changed.
Forever.
She placed her flowers next to the bridge and walked away.
FF – True Love
Here is my story for this week’s Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This is another rerun, this week requested by C. E. Ayr and the photo was contributed back in May 2013 by Ted Strutz.
This was a couple of months before my time, so I have written a story from my head! Click on the blue froggy for this week’s other stories.

“Wow, sweetie, look at this place, isn’t it great?”
“For sure! Cosy, too. A real family business. Lovely place.”
“Can I get a glass of red, babes?”
“Of course, darling. But remember, eyes on the prize.”
“I know, I know. Cash from the till, safe in the back room.”
“Exactly. Once we’re done here, where would you like to go next, my love?”
“Ooh, shoe shopping, please. The owner’s blood is all over my boots.”
“What did I tell you earlier?”
“Um, never aim for the neck?”
“Correct! You got a real spurter there.”
“Ha, clumsy me! Love you!”
“Love you too.”
Limerick Challenge – Friendship
Here is my limerick for Mind And Life Matters’ limerick challenge. This week the topic is “friendship”, and we can write a limerick about a friendship with any person, animal or thing!
When I read that I knew what to write about and had it written within a couple of minutes :-).
